Jalebi ~ Part 9

IMG_8793

Arnav and Khushi had lead everyone into the dining hall so that food could be served and so people could have dinner.

Everyone took their seats and Arnav and Khushi sat together with important people from the fashion industry.

Arnav had introduced Khushi to everyone and had explained to her who they were and why they were important to them. But Khushi’s head really wasn’t in the conversation.
Her eyes were fixed on Akash and Payal. They were sat close together, heads close, in deep conversation. She had to admit, they looked super cute together and she couldn’t help but feel excited for Payal. She knew how Payal had felt about Akash when they were in high school and it was evident that those feelings were still there between then.

“Khushi?”

Khushi was brought out of her thoughts by Arnav’s hand on her arm.

“Is the food okay?”

“It’s fine.”

“You haven’t eaten much?”

“I’m just too excited to eat, to be honest with you.”

Arnav smiled and nodded and then went back to his previous conversation. Khushi too went back to her own thoughts. Would Payal and Akash get married soon? Would she be able to design Payal’s wedding gown? Khushi could feel the excitement bubble through her and she couldn’t wait for what was to happen next.

*****

Dinner was over and a lot of the guests had made their way over to the bar. A couple of their guests had hit the dance floor. Arnav and Khushi were still floating around, making sure that all their guests were well looked after.

As he watched his guests on the dance floor, Arnav realised he wanted to dance with Khushi. At least once.
He made his way over to her when he finally saw her alone.

“Hey.”

“Hi.”

“You enjoying the party?”

“Yes! It’s going great! Everyone seems to be really enjoying themselves.”

“Are you having a good time?”

“Of course I am.”

Arnav felt a little nervous, he didn’t know how to ask her. Realising that he needed to stop being so silly, her cleared his throat and held his hand out to Khushi.

“Can I have the honour to have at least this one dance with you?”

Khushi smiled a wide smile and took his hand.

“I thought you’d never ask!”

He led her onto the middle of the dance floor and when Aman saw them, he clapped, bringing everyone’s attention onto Arnav and Khushi.

“Everyone’s looking at us.”

“Well it is our party, so if they want to look, let them.”

Arnav placed his hand on Khushi’s waist and she placed her hand on his chest. They swayed to the music and the lights of the hall began to dim. The attention shifted away from Arnav and Khushi and people went back to whatever they were doing.

“I’ve enjoyed tonight.”

“I have too.”

“Thanks for being my date.”

“It was my pleasure.”

They danced, enjoying each other’s company. They talked about all the things that had gone well that evening and what they wanted to do next.

One dance became two dances and two dances became three dances. Soon they just kept dancing to every song that came on. Slowly guests began to leave and the hall emptied. Arnav and Khushi remained absorbed in each other. They were enjoying each other’s company, each other’s warmth…

*****

“Wow would you look at the time?”

Arnav and Khushi broke away from each other and looked around them. The guests had all gone and the staff were starting to tidy up. Khushi brushed her hair behind her ear and smiled shyly. They had gotten so absorbed in each and had dance the night away. She could see Akash and Payal, still dancing slowly to the soft music playing. They looked so happy together, so intimate.

Arnav moved away and went over to talk to Aman and that’s when it happened. Khushi saw Akash drop to his knee and he pulled a ring box out of his suit jacket. She rushed over to Arnav and pointed to Akash and Payal.

“Did you know about this?!”

“No! I didn’t know he was going to propose tonight?”

The scene that was playing out in front of Arnav wasn’t making any sense. He knew that Akash was interested in Payal but he never thought that they would get married. How could Akash be going this if his aim in life was to steal Khushi’s business. Unless… Maybe he’d realised that stealing Khushiyan for Khushi isn’t what he wanted. Maybe he’d realised that all he wanted was to settle down with a woman he loved?

His attention shifted back to Payal and Akash. Akash was on his knee while Payal had her hand clasped over her mouth.

“Payal… I’ve wanted to be with you for the longest time ever. We decided to call things off in high school before you left, but we always said that if our love was real we would find our way back to each other. Well look, we have found our way back to each other and that’s enough for me. Our love is real and is true. And because of that, I want to marry you. So, will you do me the honours?”

Khushi squealed with job and took hold of Arnav’s hand. She squeezed it tightly and she tried to contain her joy.

“Of course! YES. Of course I will marry you!”

Akash smiled and he slipped the ring onto Payal’s finger. Payal, with tears in her eyes looks over to where Khushi is standing and gestures her to come over. Arnav and Khushi walk over to where the newly engaged couple are standing. Khushi rushes over as fast as she can, whereas Arnav takes his time, trying to make sense of what’s going on.

Khushi hugged Payal and Arnav gave Akash a fist bump.

“Congratulations! I can’t believe this is happening!”

“You can’t believe this is happening? Think how I’m feeling! When we left home today I didn’t think I’d go home engaged.”

Akash laughed as he wrapped his arm around Payal.

“Let’s see the ring then!”

Payal waved the ring to Khushi. The ring was a big solitaire diamond on a white gold ring.

“Wow! It’s beautiful! Akash, you’ve really pulled this one off.”

“I’m glad you approve! I’m assuming we have you’re blessing?”

“Of course you do! I’ve been ready for you to propose to jiji since we were in high school.”

Khushi and Payal hugged and they both squealed with joy. Akash turned to Arnav and raised an eyebrow at the girls.

“I didn’t know you were planning on proposing?”

“I’ve been wanting to for a while but the moment didn’t feel right.”

“I didn’t know you had the intention to propose any time soon at all.”

“Well… What can I say, I wanted to surprise the family.”

Arnav nodded, not quite understanding what Akash was playing at. But he knew he would need to talk to his cousin. If he was marrying Payal for something related to Khushi’s business. He wouldn’t let him do that. He can’t play someone like that.

*****

Akash and Payal were on their way home. Akash wanted to talk to Payal’s parents before she told them on her own. Ideally he would have wanted to speak to them first, but if he had then the proposal wouldn’t have been a surprise.

*****

Arnav and Khushi were in Arnav’s car, on their way back to Payal’s. They were taking their time because they wanted Akash to speak to the elders before they got back.
Khushi spoke excitedly about what the future held for Payal and Akash but Arnav still couldn’t help but feel skeptical. It didn’t make sense. He wanted to steal Payal’s cousins business from her, but then he was also marrying Payal? How would that make any sense.

After speaking for a while, Khushi realised that Arnav wasn’t listening to her at all.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, its just… Don’t you think this engagement has come out of nowhere?”

“Not really. I mean they were so serious about each other in high school and now they’ve been getting to know each other again for the past year or so. It was bound to happen at some point so I guess Akash didn’t want to long the process out.”

“But doesn’t it seem weird that he hadn’t mentioned proposing at all?”

“I don’t know what you’re trying to get at, but they’re happy. However they have come to this stage, they’ve done it. And we have to be happy for them and support them.”

Arnav nodded, to show Khushi that he was taking what she was saying into account. But the truth was, he was confused as hell and he wasn’t going to rest until he had spoken to Akash and tried to work out what his game was.

*****

“Oh Akash, you’re already here? Didn’t take too long to convince the folks I see.”

“Nah they didn’t take much convincing. Once they realised that me and Payal loved each other and I flashed the Raizada name, they were so whipped, they would’ve gotten us married on the spot if they could.”

Arnav nodded as he poured two glasses of whiskey. He handed one over to Akash. He sat at the bar stool and lifted the glass.

“To your engagement.”

“To my engagement.”

They both took a sip of their drinks. Arnav, just a tiny sip, but Akash downed his entire glass in one go and then filled his glass again.

“But really bro, explain to me, what’s the reason behind this rushed engagement.”

“There’s really no ulterior motive, I want to marry Payal. So why wait?”

“Because how can you plan on starting a life with her when you want to steal her sisters business.”

“Very easily bhai. You just have to keep your eye on the prize. Here, I’ve got two prizes. The first, is a 50% share of Khushiyan and the second is Payal.”

“But won’t it cause a problem between you and Payal when she realises we’ve taken Khushi’s business.”

“Not if she never realises that we’ve taken the business.”

“But how can you…”

Akash stopped Arnav.

“Some plans are better left a secret until the time is right. For now bhai, just carry on the way they have been going.”

Arnav shook his head. None of this was making sense. Akash wasn’t making sense. What was his damn game?

Akash downed the last of his drink and got to his feet. He said goodnight and was ready to go to his own room when he turned to Arnav.

“By the way bhai, I saw how you were with her today. I can tell you want to get into her pants.”

“I don’t…”

But before Arnav could finish what he was saying, Akash was already gone. Akash was still ready to steal Khushi’s business, his aim, after all this time still hadn’t changed. Arnav shook his head, he couldn’t let that happen. He couldn’t let Akash take Khushi’s happiness away from her like that. He’d never been for this plan, and now, getting to know Khushi, he definitely couldn’t do it. But how was he going to stop Akash? Arnav may be the face of this plan, but Akash was the brains and Arnav knew, that unless something was done, Akash wouldn’t stop. He needed to do something, but how?

Pardesi Pyaar ~ Part 1

“Could I get a latte please?”

“Yeah sure, do you have a loyalty card.”

The lady handed over her loyalty card and Khushi stamped it before she went off to make the woman’s latte. Khushi flew around behind the bar as she prepared the coffee and seconds later it was ready.

“Here you go ma’am.”

“Thank you Khushi!”

The woman handed the money over and slipped in an extra 5.

“Keep the change. Tip for my favourite barista in all of Durban.”

Khushi thanked the lady and then took her next order.

Khushi Kumari Gupta, an orphan, is an Indian girl, living out her dream in Durban, South Africa. She came to Durban to complete her masters degree in literature at the one and only Anchorlite College.

After completing her degree in India, she decided that there was so much of the world that she hadn’t seen. So for a year she went travelling. Khushi didn’t have the most money, but she had always been a hard worker, juggling multiple jobs between studying. She travelled to England, to America, to Canada and finally came to South Africa. She had only come with the intention to stay here for a month, but Khushi had fallen in love with the people and the culture of Durban, that she decided that she wanted to stay here and complete her masters. So here she was. She picked up all her things and she moved to South Africa to live out her dream and start a new life for herself.

*****

“Arnav, beta are you ready for your first day.”

“Papa! I’m not a child.”

“You will always be a child to me, no matter how old you get. Are you ready for your first day?”

“Ji papa. I am ready for the first day of my last semester. I can’t believe I’m finishing off my masters in a completely different country.”

Ajay Singh Raizada laughed. His son maybe of the ripe age of 25, but Arnav still acted 15 most of the time.

Ajay Singh Raizada, naam tho suna hoga. He’s one of the richest men in India and is constantly moving around the world, setting up new business deals and extending his empire. This year, his business has brought him and his son to South Africa. Usually Ajay travels on his own, leaving his family in India to get on with their lives, but something about South Africa made Ajay want to bring Arnav. Something spoke to him, made him feel like bringing Arnav was something he needed to do. So after long conversations, it was decided that Arnav would come with his father and he would complete his last semester of his masters in business at Anchorlite College.

Arnav gave his father a hug, took his blessing and made his way out so he could get to college.

“Khushi, have you seen that new guy around?”

“What new guy?”

“The hot Indian.”

Khushi looked up from her book at her friend Katie.

“What are you talking about?”

“The hot Indian! He’s new, I heard he’s finishing his masters in business.”

“I haven’t seen a ‘hot Indian’ nor have I heard anything about him.”

“How would you hear anything? You’ve been in this library all day with your earphones in and your head in that book.”

“Katie, we have exams soon. You should be in this library with me and you should have your head in a book too.”

“But Khushiiiii!”

“No sh! Either you sit and do you’re reading, or you go away.”

Katie stamped her foot lightly and pouted. Khushi looked up at her best friend and laughed.

“You really are such a child.”

“You know you love me like this.”

“I do, but Kay, I really need to work.”

“You work too hard. Any way, I’m going. I’ll see you at home.”

Khushi nodded and Katie left. Katie was the first person to take Khushi under her wing when she arrived here and she was eternally grateful. Khushi had thought that the move here would be quite easy, but she found it very difficult. She felt home sick quite quickly and really struggled to make friends with people. But like a blessing, Katie entered her life and Khushi had a sister that she had always wanted. Katie helped Khushi get her bearings sorted and also offered Khushi a place to stay. She was reluctant at first, but as Khushi and Katie became friends, she realised that this was the best thing that could have possibly happened to her.

*****

“Katie, I’m going to work.”

Katie came rushing out of her bedroom.

“You’re going to work?”

“Yeah.”

“But you just got home. I thought you needed to work on your paper.”

“I do, but there’s an extra shift at work so I need to go.”

“Khushi… You’re over working yourself.”

“I’m fine don’t worry. I’ll be back later.”

Khushi gave Katie a hug and then left. Katie looked at the clock and sighed. It was almost 9pm. Ever since she had met Khushi, Khushi was constantly juggling. She knew that Khushi didn’t have any family to back her to help her pay for her bills, but she couldn’t stand seeing her friend working like this, it hurt her heart that Khushi had no time to relax. But alas there was nothing she could do except support Khushi.

*****

It was nearing 10pm and Khushi was getting tired. She’d only been working about an hour, but she had covered a shift earlier that morning and she had been at college during the day. Khushi felt her eyes pulling but she needed to get through the next half an hour and then she would be able to go home. She didn’t mind working in the evenings, not many people came in. There were the regulars who liked to buy a coffee and sit and do their work, but they didn’t bother her and no one else really came in at that time so she didn’t have to do much work. It was fairly easy money to make.

It was a little while later and Khushi was cleaning out the coffee machine when the little chime above the door made a noise to signify that a customer had just walked in. Khushi straightened out her apron and moved to behind the counter, ready to take the order. The man came and stood before her and she couldn’t help but drool a little. He was gorgeous. He had dark brown, almost black hair, his eyes were molten chocolate brown, and she could see his muscles bulging under her shirt.

“Can I get a black coffee please.”

Khushi nodded and went to work straight away. Who was this guy? Why had she never seen him before? And did god really make such beautiful men?

Scars ~ Part 40 ~ FINAL PART

Arnav checked himself and Khushi into a room in the hotel, screw drinks. He just wanted to be with his Khushi now. He undid the buttons of his suit faster than anything and pulled all his clothes off. Once out of everything other than his boxers, Arnav grabbed hold of Khushi who had also made light work of her clothes and pushed her down onto the bed and came over her. Arnav attacked her lips and he fumbled with her bra.
Khushi let her hands move down to Arnav’s member who was already hard and pushed his boxers away. Arnav did the same with Khushi’s underwear and threw it across the room.

“God it’s been too long.”

“It has…”

“I’m going to fu*k the daylights out of you baby.”

“Please do.”

Arnav smiled and kissed Khushi’s neck. This felt right, being here with her. He carried on kissing her neck, all the while touching her breasts. He trailed his kisses down her torso. His hands were one step ahead of him and were playing with her. Soon arnav’s lips found their destination and he kissed Khushi down there. She let out a soft moan as her fingers locked into his hair, pulling him further into herself.

“Ah Arnav…”

He pulled himself away slightly and looked into her eyes.

“You like it when I eat you out don’t you baby.”

Khushi blushed a deep shade of red and hid her face with her hands.
Arnav smirked and went back to what he was doing. His fingers played with her while his tongue caused havoc within her. Khushi wrapped her legs around Arnav’s neck, bringing him closer to herself. Her hips arched up, letting his tongue dig in deeper.

“Arnav, I can’t…”

He pulled away and positioned himself on top of her. He asked her for permission with his eyes and Khushi smiled and she pulled him into herself.

Arnav positioned himself on top and he got ready to enter.

“I love you Khushi.”

“I love you too…”

“Thank you, for everything. For being the best wife a man could ask for. Thank you for having faith in me when I didn’t have faith in myself, and for staying by my side.”

“I’ll always be by your side. No matter what.”

Arnav placed a passionate kiss on her lips as he lowered himself in. Khushi gasped as she let her legs wrap around his waist. No matter how many times they did it, it always felt like the first time. This was how things were, and this is how they were meant to be.

*****

~ Two years later ~

“I can’t believe I’m finally going to graduate from college.”

“You’re finally living your dream out.”

“My dreams came true when you accepted me as your wife.”

Arnav smiled and placed a kiss on Khushi’s lips.

“I’m so proud of you baby. Hey I got something for you?”

“You did?”

Arnav nodded as he went over to his wardrobe and pulled out a box wrapped in gold paper. He handed it over to Khushi.

“You didn’t need to get me anything!”

“I know, but I thought I may as well.”

Khushi opened the box box to reveal a midnight blue sari. It was fairly simple, but the border was heavy and was gold. The blouse too was gold and extremely heavy.

“Arnav… It’s gorgeous!”

“It’s from our winter range. Thought you could model it for us so people could get the first look.”

“Well that’s very thoughtful of you.”

“There’s something under the sari for the after party.”

Khushi shook her head and laughed. She carefully took the sari out of the box and put it down onto the bed. Underneath was a black, silky gown.

“Oh Arnav… This is gorgeous!”

“This one I had designed especially for you.”

“I love it!!”

“There’s one more. At the bottom there’s something for the after after party.”

“What after after party?”

Arnav smirked and pulled Khushi into his arms.

“You know, the party me and you are attending.”

“I wasn’t aware we were attending such party.”

“Well we are so I suggest you have a look at what I’ve got for you to wear.”

Khushi blushed and went back to the box. Carefully, she removed the black gown, which she now realised had slight sparkles. She put it down onto the bed and there, underneath was a pair of red panties and a red lacy bra.

“D’you like it?”

“Of course I do!”

“So we’re definitely partying with you in those?”

Khushi threw Arnav a playful smile and went to get dressed.

*****

“Mrs Khushi Singh Raizada, please come and collect your diploma.”

Khushi walked across the stage in her graduation rope and cap with her sari Arnav had gifted her on underneath. She walked across the stage and looked out to see her family cheering for her. She saw her husband, her biggest fan whooping and clapping as loudly as he could. There was Anjali di with her 1 year old, just beaming up at her. Payal and Akash sat together, glowing with pride. And then there was her Mausaji. He was sat right at the front with a tear in his eye. Tear of happiness that his girl had finally managed to achieve what she had wanted to achieve. Garima had been invited, but she’d declined. After the divorce things had gotten slightly better between Khushi and Garima, however, not a lot. But Khushi didn’t care. If her aunt didn’t care for her, then she wasn’t going to get down over it. There were plenty of people in her life that did love her and did care for her.

She gave a little wave to them all and then carried on to collect her diploma and then went on to join her friends on the other side of the stage.

Lavanya hugged Khushi and Raj gave her a high five.

“Can you believe we’ve done it?”

“We’ve finally done it!”

Somewhere along the lines, Tom and Amrita were lost. After they’d broken up, things just hadn’t been the same for the group and slowly they’d become distant from Khushi, La and Raj. However, this change hadn’t affected the friendship between the three of them. They’d stuck it out together and now they were victorious coming out at the other end.
Slowly but surely, their whole graduating class joined them on the other side of the stage. When everyone had joined them, there was last short speech and then they threw their hats up, they’d made it.

*****

“Right I’m going to get the first round of drinks in. What’s everyone drinking?”

“I’ll have a vodka on the rocks.” Arnav said to Raj with a nod.

“Champaign for me please.” Replied Lavanya.

“I’ll just have a lemonade.” Said Khushi.

“Oh cmon Khush, it’s graduation night, one drink?”

Khushi shook her head and cuddled closer to Arnav. She looked around the large banquet hall and smiled to see all her classmates enjoying themselves.

“It’s graduation night, I want to be able to remember everything clearly. I just don’t want to be tipsy.”

“In that case, I’ll just have a coke.”

“Arnav, are you sure?”

“It’s my wife’s graduation. I don’t want to get hammered.”

Raj nodded and went to get the drinks, while Lavanya, Arnav and Khushi carried on talking.

“So now that we’ve graduated, when are you and Raj thinking of getting married?”

“We were thinking of maybe in July?”

Somewhere over the course of the two years, Raj and Lavanya had realised that they had feelings for each other that was more than friends. It had taken them both a long time to admit it, but since they had, things hadn’t been better. And soon, they were to get married!

Before much could be discussed, Raj returned with the drinks and handed everyone their orders.

“I love your gown Khushi, where’s it from?”

“AR.”

“I shouldn’t have bothered asking.”

Lavanya laughed and she slowly began to drink her drink. Arnav took Khushi’s hand into his. They looked around the room. Everyone was enjoying themselves, having a drink or dancing.

“Wanna dance?” Arnav whispered into Khushi’s ear.

“I thought you’d never ask.”

Arnav helped Khushi to her feet and they made their way over to the dance floor. The music was soft and Arnav and Khushi swayed slowly.

“You really do look amazing tonight baby.”

“You don’t look half bad yourself Raizada.”

“Are you enjoying yourself?”

“Of course. Today’s been one of the best days ever.”

“Well the night is still young, sure I could find a way to make even better for you.”

Khushi blushed a deep shade of red. The music picked up and Arnav began to twirl her. They danced as though they were the only two people in the world. He held her close and looked into her eyes as they danced slowly in time with the music. He moved in to her ever so slightly and Khushi looked ever so slightly confused until she realised. She moved into him too until their lips touched ever so slightly. Khushi pulled away though.

“What’s wrong?”

“There’s too many people here.”

“Shall we go upstairs?”

“Upstairs?”

“Start our after after party early?”

“Did you book us a room?”

“Of course I did.”

Khushi blushed and placed a peck on Arnav’s cheek.

“Can we go up in a bit? I want to spend a little bit more time with Lavanya and Raj.

“We can do whatever you like babe. It’s your night after all.”

They carried on dancing until the song ended and Arnav took Khushi’s hand so that they could go back to La and Raj. However as they were approaching them, Khushi changed her mind.

“What’s wrong?”

“Let’s go upstairs.”

“Khushi…”

“No I want to.”

*****

Arnav opened the door to the room that he had booked out for himself and Khushi. Khushi looked around and gasped.

The room was decorated with rose petals. There were petals all over the floor and all over the bed. Little tea lights were also scattered all over the room.

“Arnav…”

Arnav moved into Khushi and lifted her chin and kissed her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in close to himself. Khushi let her hands move under his suit jacket and placed them on his chest.

“Tonight has been the best.”

“And it’s not over yet baby.”

Arnav slipped the gown off of Khushi’s shoulders. The silky material trailed down her body and pooled around her heels on the floor. Arnav took a step back and his breath caught in his throat. She was wearing the red lacy lingerie he had gifted her and she looked divine.

“Hold on a second.”

Khushi looked up, her eyebrows raised in question.
Arnav moved over to the little speaker and clicked it on. The slow, calming introduction of ‘Pyaar De’ came on. Khushi bit her lip and Arnav made his way back to her. As he was approaching, he shrugged out of his clothes, letting it all fall anywhere.

Arnav lifted Khushi off the floor, and touched his lips to hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kept them like that as he settled them both down on to the bed. Arnav removed her hands from around his neck and he slowly worked down her body, placing light kisses as he went.

*Pyaar de, mujhe tu pyaar de…*

Arnav unclipped her bra and slowly pulled her panties away from her body and freed himself of his own underwear.

*Zara nazdeek tu, aane de…*

“I love you baby.”

“I love you too jaan.”

Arnav rested his lips on Khushi’s once more and he positioned himself between her legs. He pushed himself into her and Khushi wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer to herself.

“Ahh.”

Arnav locked his fingers into Khushi’s as he slowly penetrated her body with his length.
The soft melody of the song carried on playing, all the while their soft moans of pleasure also filled the room.

Khushi slowly opened her eyes to find Arnav too was opening his eyes slightly. She looked at her strong, loving husband making love to her and tightened her legs around him. She couldn’t help but think back to a time when she thought it would be impossible for her to be where she was now.

She’d managed to live her dream and graduated from college and her husband loved her, every inch of her, every little flaw, every little perk.
Her mind flew back to those days over 3 years ago and couldn’t help but smile. She turned her head slightly and looked at her hand locked with Arnav’s and her gaze dropped slightly to her wrist. Feint scars were still present, battle scars, but they were fading every day. She looked back to Arnav and smiled and shut her eyes.

The physical scars were fading and the mental scars had long faded now and that was all a result of Arnav’s love.
Because true love could heal any scar…

Leave your reviews and I will be back tomorrow! Also, happy new year everybody!

PS: I have also just opened a twitter account for my work. I’ll be posting updates and reminders and stuff on there, so please do follow me if you have an account. My twitter handle is @ganga16tr. There isn’t much on there yet, but I will start working on it ASAP
