Arnav

** 6 years later **

Sat at my recliner, I was checking my emails when she came running into my room.

“Papa!”

I ignored her. She knew not to disturb me when I was working.

“Papa! Listen to me.”

“Pari, I’m working.”

“Please listen me!”

I went back to my work, I didn’t need this right now. She stood there, clapping her little hands and stamping her feet. I could feel my temper rising, but I knew I really shouldn’t snap at her. But she kept going, not giving up.

“Pari! I’m working! Go!”

Di came running into the room. Now I’m done for. Pari rushed into Di’s arms and Di held her close to herself, all the while looking at me in a very angry manner. Here we go again.

“Chote! How many times have I told you not to shout at her?”

“I was working Di.”

“She’s a child! You can’t shout at her like that. You’re too much Arnav. Too much.”

“Di please, I don’t need this right now, it’s too early in the morning.”

“No Chote, you need to be aware your actions have consequences. You can’t just bark at her and get away with it.”

I knew what was coming next, the line Di always hit me, I knew it word for word.

“You’re not just a boss any more, you’re a dad, 5 and a half years since you’ve been a dad and you still don’t get it. You can’t speak to your child the way you talk to you’re employees.”

“Di please. Just take her and go.”

“The her you’re talking about is your daughter. Not a goat like Laxmi. You can’t just tell her to get lost and expect her to listen.”

I shut my laptop and put my hand to my head. The same argument between me and Di, all the time. Pari was five and a half, and in the last 5 and a half years, we had this argument at least 3 times a week, every week.

“Shouldn’t she be getting ready for school any way. Where’s her mother? Can you tell her she needs to control her kid.”

“Her mother, your WIFE, has gone to work. And if you paid closer attention to your daughter, you’d know that she’s ill and isn’t allowed to go to school.”

Di dropped to her knees so she was the same height as Pari.

“Pari beta, go and play with Akshay.”

Pari ran off to go and find Akshay. Di stood up, her hands on her hips.

“Chote, you really need to stop behaving like this towards her.”

“How am I supposed to behave then Di?”

“The way Akash is with Akshay or the way your jijaji has always been with Shalini.”

“There’s a difference between them and me. They wanted to be fathers. I didn’t choose this, I didn’t want this. I was just told one day I was going to be a dad.”

Di shook her head. She was tired of this argument and so was I.

“Chote please. Please look at what you’re doing to this family. You’re ripping it in two.”

I looked away and shook my head. Di didn’t have a clue what she was on about. She never did, not in terms of this.

“When was the last time you and Payal were able to look each other in the eye and have a good conversation? When was the last time you were able to sit with any of us and just enjoy everyone’s company and enjoy your time with the kids? And let’s not even get started on your marriage.”

“My marriage is a joke Di and you know it.”

“I understand you weren’t ready to become a father, I get that Chote, but you were blessed with a beautiful little girl. You should do what you need to do to make things work for your little girl.”

“Di please. You know better than anyone else how I feel about everything. I don’t want to argue about this any more. Please just leave me.”

I could tell Di was tired and she felt deflated. I hated seeing Di like this, but what could I do? In my heart I couldn’t accept Pari, and I don’t know if I ever will be able to. It sounds harsh, she’s only a little girl, but… Di left and I opened up my laptop again and went scrolling through all my old pictures. Pictures of me and Khushi, from our marriage, from our honeymoon, from just after our honeymoon. Pictures from a better time, a time before we knew a storm was brewing between us, a time before Pari.

If time could be turned back, I’d go back to our honeymoon. Everything was so good, so peaceful back then. We were so happy, everything was so perfect. I missed her, I missed the way things were.

Di liked to believe that whatever happens, happens for a reason, that there’s some goodness to come from what has happened. But 6 years have passed since our honeymoon, 6 years since I was truly happy and content with my life.

Clicking off of the pictures, I knew I needed to come to terms with my life as they were. However my life was 6 years ago, it would never be like that ever again, no matter how much I looked at the old pictures and pined for the past. Some things just couldn’t go back to being the same.

Pushing my laptop aside, I went to go look for Pari. She wasn’t hard to find, she was in Payal and Akash’s bedroom, playing with 2 year old Akshay. They were both sat on the floor and Pari was teaching him how to clap his hands in time with her, I took a seat next to the both of them.

“Are you guys playing?”

“I’m teaching him patty cake.”

“Your buaji tells me your ill, what’s wrong?”

“Mama said I have a temperature.”

I placed my hand on her little cheek and then her forehead, and indeed, she did have a temperature.

Little Shalini rushed into the room, looking for Pari.

“Pari, Pari! Are you ready? We need to go school!”

I watched as Pari shook her little head before she explained to Shalini that her mother told her she had to stay at home today. Looking slightly deflated, Shalini gave Pari a hug and then left for school. Shalini was a couple of months younger than Pari and the both of them were the best of friends. They were like two peas in a pod, they did everything together.

“Have you had medicine Pari?”

“Yes papa.”

Nodding, I got to my feet and was just leaving when Payal walked into her bedroom. She stood at the doorway, staring at me.

“I just came to check on Pari, she’s ill.”

“I know, Di told me to keep an eye on her.”

“Oh okay.”

Stepping aside, Payal moved out of the way so that I could get out of the room. Our interaction quota for the day was up. Nodding, I moved to leave when I remembered there was something I needed to ask her.

“Payal have you…”

“No I haven’t. Not since the one two weeks ago. If I do get another one, then I’ll let you know.”

“Thank you.”

“Hm.”

My relationship with Payal sucked. I couldn’t remember the last time I was able to have a normal, carefree conversation with her. I mean, I understand why she’s so hostile towards me, but… And the awkwardness between me and Payal took a toll on my relationship with Akash.

Even when I held little Akshay, I saw the way Payal looked at me. It was obvious she didn’t want me anywhere near her son. And this was all happening because of Pari. Before Pari, I had a great relationship with everyone. But now, it was me against the Raizada’s and I hated it. I needed to get out of here, just needed some time away from this house and all the people.

Going back to my room, I heard my phone ringing and so rushed to answer it. Looking at the called ID, I saw that it was from AR in Mumbai. Weird, they hardly ever bothered me on my personal phone. Taking the call, I sat down, listening to hear what they had to say.

It seemed as though my prayers had been heard. I was going to Mumbai to deal with some major issues within the business. Finally, time away from this house and these people. Time for a new adventure.

Author’s Note:

So here we go guys! The beginning of a new chapter of Unwanted! I know a lot of you guys have been waiting for this for so long, so I am so glad that we are finally resuming this story. I’m hoping you guys are really going to enjoy it because it took me a while to get the planning of it all right. Because I alternate between Arnav and Khushi’s point of view, it took a while to make sure that I was weaving the story carefully so that I wasn’t giving too much away all in one go.

So the first couple of updates of this story will be shorter than usual because I don’t want to give everything away, but once we really get into the story, the chapters will start getting longer again.

I hope you guys have enjoyed the beginning and can’t wait to hear what you all think!

New Year, New Schedule

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I hope you all are doing very, very well and brought the new year in with a BANG.

As you all already know, I am currently away on holiday, but wherever I am, I’m always thinking about you guys!

I hope you have been enjoying the updates that have been posted over the last couple of weeks, I can’t wait to return home and be able to read them all.

Right down to business, as the title suggests, it’s a new year and that means that it is time for a new updating schedule. For the majority of last year, I posted once a fortnight. Due to that, it means that I have had the time to work on more updates. I currently have a HUGE backlog of updates. So, after doing my calculations and looking at my own timetable, I have realised that I will now be able to commit to updating once a week. That’s right! I will now be updating every single Sunday at 4pm UK time, instead of once every two weeks.

As it currently stands, I believe I can commit to this, however later in the year if I do feel that I am starting to struggle, I will definitely revaluate my updating pattern. But for now, I am happy with this and it think I am going to stick to it.

That’s all I have for now! Thank you all for taking the time out to read this. I will be back on Sunday with the final chapter of Fifty Shades of Raizada so I hope that you are all ready for that. I really hope that you will enjoy it.

Until then, take care and I will be back very, very soon. x

Jalebi ~ Part 14

Arnav and Khushi took their leave from everyone who was still there from the conference and then made their way back up to their room.

The moment they had left the dining area, Khushi slipped her hand into Arnav’s. They maintained a respectable distance between them, but their hands remained locked in each other’s.

When they arrived at their room, Khushi took the key card out of her bag and unlocked the door, pulling Arnav in behind her. Slamming the door shut, Khushi pushed Arnav up against the door and she kissed him. The kiss was fast and intense. Khushi shrugged out of her blazer and then began pushing Arnav’s suit jacket off of his shoulders. Their respective jackets fell to the floor. Khushi’s fingers were already busy, first loosening his tie and pulling it off and then unbuttoning the buttons on his shirt. Arnav’s hands were in Khushi hair, his fingers burning the skin on her scalp. Arnav pulled back slightly, breaking their kiss.

“Khushi are you sure? I know you wanted to put your business first…”

Pulling him back onto her, Khushi silenced him with a kiss. She knew what she had said, but she’d been fighting her feelings for him for over a year now, enough was enough. She wanted him and he wanted to be with her. Nothing else mattered. Maybe she should be taking things slower, but she was desperate to feel him…

Arnav realised that Khushi full well knew what she was doing and couldn’t help but feel excited. He took hold of Khushi’s waist and spun her round so that it was her that had her back against the door, and he was looming over her.

Arnav’s hands moved round her back, fumbling with the zip of her dress before pulling it all the way down. As he pulled the zip further down, the more it came away from her body. Breaking the kiss, Arnav watched as the dress came away from her and slipped off her shoulders completely. He pushed the dress down and watched as it pooled around her feet. He took a step back and took in her body. She was wearing black silky lingerie. He took in her full breasts, her nipples poking through the material of her bra and his eyes travelled down to her panties. Khushi felt his glare down there and she pushed her thighs together.

Moving back into her, Arnav placed his hand on her exposed waist as Khushi kicked her heels off her feet. The height difference between them increased and Arnav liked it. He lifted her chin up and pressed his lips between hers, all the while letting his hands feel her waist.

He lifted her off her feet ever so slightly and pressed her hard against the door and held her there, his body holding her up. Khushi locked her legs around his waist, her arms around his neck. His hands moved up her ribcage and rested on either side of her breasts, and his lips slipped down to her neck. Throwing her head back ever so slightly, Khushi allowed Arnav further exposure of her neck and he continued to place a trail of kisses on her neck.

Holding onto her, Arnav carried Khushi over to the bed and placed her down, then proceeded to part with his trousers which were starting to suffocate his member. Trousers off, he came over again again, one hand on her breast, the other trailing up her thighs. Khushi’s arms remained locked around his neck.

Slipping his hand under her bra, Arnav let his fingers play with one of Khushi’s hard nipples. He strummed at the little pebble before lowering his head over it. Khushi’s body lifted off the bed slightly, her hips brushed with his. His hands fumbled round her back and unclasped her bra. He pulled the straps out from under her and then carried on slowly pulling the straps down off her shoulders. He went slowly, giving her the opportunity to stop him if she wanted to. But she didn’t. Her breathing increased as he slowly began to pull it away from her.

Once her bra was off, Arnav took a moment to take her in in her full glory. She had beautiful breasts. They were round and perky, untouched, all his. He placed his hands on either side of either breast and pushed them together.

“You have such sexy boobs.”

Khushi bit her lip, suppressing a smile. She’d never had an issue with her chest region but never thought it was anything special either. But hearing him complement her, and feeling the way he treated them, she couldn’t help but feel proud of them.

Arnav felt his member harden and strained within the confinement of his boxers. He wanted to pull them away, but he didn’t want to come across as being presumptive, even though it was clear where things were going between them.

Arnav trailed kisses down from her breasts to her belly button and then lower still.

Khushi grabbed hold of his hair as he moved lower still, kissing the insides of her thighs. Khushi pushed her thighs together, trying to stop the feeling the was brewing within her down there. Arnav hooked his fingers into either side of her panties and slowly began to pull them away, again giving her enough time to stop him if she wanted to. But she didn’t. He pulled them away and then moved back to place a kiss down there.

“Arnav…”

He came back over her, his lips between hers in a passionate kiss, pressing his tongue against hers. Arnav pulled away, he needed to ask, make sure.

“Khushi, do you want this?”

“Do you?”

“Fuck yes I do. I want you so bad, I have done for the longest time.”

“Then I’m yours for the taking.”

He kissed her again, hard and fast before pushing a finger into her. She was wet, so ready for him. Arnav pulled back and pulled his boxers away. Khushi’s eyes fluttered open and she took him in. All of him. He was gorgeous, so muscular and tanned. All man. All hers.

Arnav reached out to the bedside table and pulled out a box of condoms that he’d seen earlier. The perks of staying at fancy hotels, free condoms in the bedside tables. He opened the box and pulled one out. Ripping the pack open with his teeth, Arnav took the condom out and pulled it over his length.

Holding his length, he rubbed it along the length of her entrance and Khushi felt herself going breathless. He wasn’t even doing anything and it already felt so good, like they were made to do this together.

He lowered himself against her, his lips near her ear.

“I love you Khushi Kumari Gupta.”

“I love you too Arnav Singh Raizada.”

Taking that as the permission he was waiting for, Arnav dipped his length into her slightly. Khushi gasped out, and her back lifted off the bed ever so slightly.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, I’m fine.”

Slowly and carefully, Arnav pushed himself further into her until he reached the barrier, signifying her virginity was still intact.

“Khushi, are you sure?”

“I’ve never been surer of anything.”

“This might hurt a bit, hold onto me.”

Wrapping her arms around him and holding him close, Khushi braced herself for what was to come. Arnav took a deep breath himself, and pulled back slightly, before diving straight in, all the way, breaking her wall down. Khushi gasped and held Arnav close, tears prickling her eyes.

“Are you okay?”

He felt her nod against his shoulder. Arnav held still, allowing her body to get used to him. He held her close, and felt her muscles adjust around him. When he felt her body was ready, Arnav began to move, pulling back slightly before thrusting back. It took them a while to establish a pace and to get to grips with what they were doing, but it didn’t take long. It was almost as though they’d done it a million times before, Arnav knew exactly how fast he needed to go. Khushi wrapped a leg around his waist, holding him close to herself.

“Mm Arnav…”

Her breathing was fast and shallow, her hand holding on tightly to his upper arm. Arnav groaned as he felt her walls tighten around him. He kept going, feeling her muscles contract around his faster. She was close and he knew he was too.

They carried on, but not long after, Khushi spiralled off into oblivion and Arnav did too. He held himself still for a moment and Khushi held onto Arnav as the waves stopped crashing around her.

Slowly, Arnav began to pull away, pulling off the used condom and throwing it in the bin. He rolled back next to Khushi, and draped his around her.

“Are you okay?”

Moving into him, Khushi placed a light kiss on his lips and buried her head into his chest. Her eyes felt heavy and soon enough, Khushi fell asleep.

*****

The next morning came around faster than either of them had expected it to. Their night had been filled with passion, rolling over to each other over and over again, reaching out to the other so that they could make love again and again.

Arnav woke up first. He rolled over and turned to Khushi who was still fast asleep. Even as she slept, she held the sheets close to her, covering her naked body from him. Arnav shuffled closer to her, reaching out for her under the sheets and placing a hand on her waist.

He pushed her off her side and onto her back and came over her. He placed little kisses all over her place and began moving down her body. He had reached the valley between her breasts when Khushi finally began to wake up.

“Good morning.”

Arnav came up and placed a kiss on her lips and Khushi draped her arms around him.

“Good morning.”

“Are you feeling okay?”

“I feel great.”

Pulling away from her, Arnav lay down on his side of the bed and ran his finger down along the side of her face.

“Last night was amazing.”

A blush crept along Khushi’s face. She wanted to tell him it was amazing for her too, but she didn’t know how to verbalise what she wanted to say. Arnav moved closer, his hands creeping up to her breasts.

“Maybe we can have another round?”

Shaking her head, Khushi clutched the sheets against her chest and sat up.

“Can I go and have a shower?”

“Yeah sure! Of course you can.”

Looking around her, she saw Arnav’s shirt lying on the floor, the closest item of clothing.

She picked it up and turned away from him so she could put it on. Arnav watched, something about her putting his shirt on turned him on so much more than anything else. Khushi got out of bed, gathered her things and went into the bathroom.

*****

Letting the water cascade down her body, Khushi couldn’t help but recall what had happened last night. It truly was magical and she loved every moment of it, but she also realised she had some big decisions to make. Yesterday she had let herself rush into making a decision, but now… Maybe she should have thought things through before letting herself jump into bed with him.

Finishing up her shower, Khushi got out and got dressed, bracing herself so that she could face Arnav again.

She came out of the bathroom to find that he was still in bed, lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling, smiling. She came and sat down on the edge of the bed.

“Arnav, can we talk?”

“Yeah sure, what’s up?”

“Do you want to have a shower first?”

“No it’s alright, you tell me what’s on your mind first.”

“I… I don’t know how to say this…”

She hesitated and Arnav suddenly got a sick feeling in his stomach. Did she regret what they did? He sat up, reaching out to her. Khushi took his hand in hers and smiled.

“What’s wrong?”

“Arnav, I was thinking… I want you to go back to India.”

“What?”

“I want you to go back. As soon as possible.”

“But why? I thought we were going to stay and see the sites and you were going to take me to see your parents. Do you regret…”

“No, no, god know. I don’t regret what happened between us. It’s just… I have a lot that I need to think about. And I want to do it here, in England. I want to get my head straight before going back to India.”

“But why can’t I stay with you?”

“I feel like I just need my own time.”

Arnav ran his fingers through his hair.

“Okay, I’ll go back… But what does this mean for us?”

“That’s something I need to think about. I mean…”

“So you don’t know if you want to be with me?”

“No Arnav, I know I want to be with you, that’s one thing I’m sure of. I just need to think about everything else surrounding us. What us being together is going to mean for the people around us and our businesses.”

“But when you come back to India, we can be together, right?”

Leaning in, she pressed her lips between Arnav’s and cupped his face.

“It would take a lot for me to decide that we shouldn’t be together.”

*****

Arnav had had a shower and they have ordered breakfast up to their room. They ate slowly, enjoy each other’s company. When food was done, Arnav started packing his bags.

As much as Khushi wanted him to go, she couldn’t help but feel sad. She wanted him to stay, wanted to spend more time with him, but she knew there was a lot she needed to do before she could fully commit herself to him like that and he seemed to understand that.

When the bags were packed and Arnav had arranged his flight back, he was getting ready to leave.

“So when are you coming back to India?”

“I should be back within the week.”

“Do you want me to send the jet?”

“No it’s fine, I’ll make my own way back.”

“Can I collect you from the airport?”

Nodding, Khushi hugged him. Tears prickled her eyes. Why was it so hard to say bye to him. She was going to be back with him very soon. Arnav sensed her tears and pulled her away and wiped her tears away.

“Hey, it’s only for a couple of days, and then we’ll be back together. And I’ll call you and text you.”

“I don’t even know why I’m feeling so emotional.”

“I have that affect on women.”

Laughing, Khushi playfully hit him and Arnav pulled her back into himself. Lifting her chin, he moved into kiss her. Khushi rose up on her tip toes, wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips between his. The kiss wasn’t exactly heavy, but nor was it light. It was the kiss of two lovers who didn’t want to part so soon, yet knew they had to for now. But the prospect of tomorrow was there, shining bright only a little distance away from them.

“Come back soon okay?”

“I will do.”

Arnav grabbed his bags, made sure he had everything with him and took his leave.

“I love you Khushi.”

“I love you too Arnav.”

“Come back soon.”

“I will, I promise.”

Arnav left and soon couldn’t come soon enough.

Fifty Shades of Raizada ~ Part 19

“Arnav stop.”

Pushing him away from herself, Khushi got to her feet and sorted the straps of her dress out.

It had been 2 months since they’d found each other again and things were going well. Arnav had said that he cared about her enough to give up his previous ways, that he was ready to try and have a relationship with her that she approved of. He was letting her lead the way and Khushi had told Arnav that she wanted to get to know him properly and that she wanted him to get to know her properly. This meant that they went out on date nights like normal couples. They went to restaurants and cinemas, spent time together in public places instead of being locked away. Khushi was happy with the way things were going. She’d gotten to know about the little things that Arnav liked and disliked and she was happy that he too was taking an interest in finding out little things about her too.

Arnav on the other hand wasn’t as happy as Khushi. He was happy that he had Khushi back in his life, but he was deprived. He hadn’t gone so long without utilising the playroom. And Khushi was refraining from any kind of sexual relations until they really got things sorted. Maybe if they were getting intimate then he wouldn’t be so frustrated. But again, he didn’t want to complain, he was just glad that he had Khushi back in his life.

“Khushi can’t we…”

“No. We can’t. I know you’re finding this hard, but Arnav, you respecting my wishes just shows me that you really do care for me and you really do want to make this work.”

Getting off the bed, he walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

“I’d do anything for you. Hell, I’m already doing so much more than I’d ever thought I’d do for a woman. I can’t believe I’m actually going to these therapy sessions for you.”

Placing a light kiss on his cheek, Khushi smiled.

“You doing all this is showing me how much you actually want me. I know now that I really do mean more to you than just you wanting me to be your submissive.”

Wrapping his arm around her, Arnav placed a kiss on Khushi’s forehead. It was hard, completely changing his lifestyle for her, but gradually he could feel himself changing.
Before, if he wasn’t using the playroom at least once every week, he’d be in a horrid mood for the rest of the week. Now, he hadn’t used the room in over 7 months and he wasn’t craving it the way he used to. He was craving Khushi, not the room and what he did in the room. If Khushi would just let him have sex with her now, he would be content. He didn’t feel like he needed to room any more for pleasure.

Arnav had also started going to therapy sessions. Khushi had insisted that they would do him good, that they would help him to resolve issues that he had within himself. He had been reluctant at first, had refused, but under duress he went to the first one. He had found it helpful to talk to someone who understand what he had gone through and who understood what he was going through. The sessions were helping him more than he would like to admit, but he was glad that Khushi was making him go to them.

*****

Pulling up in front of Khushi and Lavanya’s apartment, Arnav took his key out of the ignition.

“So… I was wondering if you’d like to accompany me to see Di and everyone else at Shantivan tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?”

“Yeah, I’m sorry it’s last minute, Di only called me last night and forgot to tell you earlier.”

“What time tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow evening.”

“Okay.”

Leaning over, Arnav pressed a kiss onto Khushi cheek before moving back. But Khushi caught him by the sleeve and moved her face closer to his.

“Just a kiss on the cheek? Mr Raizada, I think you’re losing your touch.”

Moving into him, Khushi pressed her lips between his and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Arnav placed his hands on Khushi’s waist, bringing her closer to himself. So close that her breasts brushed against his chest.

Lips parted, they let their tongues meet, caressing each other’s. Arnav’s hands moved up to her neck and then down again over her breasts.

Arnav shifted in his seat to get closer to Khushi, but his elbow hit the horn of the car. The loud sound of the horn made them jerk apart and look around. Laughing at what just happened, Khushi loved back slightly while Arnav ran his hand down her cheek before sighing and moving away.

“I’ll come and pick you up tomorrow evening.”

Placing a quick kiss on his cheek before she left the the car, Khushi nodded, signifying that she would be ready for him to pick her up.

Once out of the car, Khushi stood on the sidewalk and watched Arnav pull off. Turning around, she made her way up to her apartment.

As soon as Khushi opened the door, she was faced by Lavanya who stood there with her arms folded across her chest.

“Hi.”

“Do you hi me Khushi. What the hell is going on?”

“What do you mean? Nothing is going on!”

“Khushi, don’t you dare lie to me. You’re seeing Arnav again.”

“You knew I was seeing him again?”

“I knew that you were meeting with him, I didn’t realise you were in a relationship with him again. And I guess I wouldn’t have found out if you weren’t being idiots and fooling around in the front of the car. Which by the way is the stupidest thing ever. Didn’t anyone ever teach either of you that you don’t fool around in the front of the car, you take it to the backseat.”

“We weren’t fooling around, we just kissed and then the stupid horn went off.”

“But why are you kissing him at all?”

“La…”

Brushing past Lavanya, Khushi entered the main living space, put her bag down and then made her way into the kitchen to find some food. La followed her.

“Khushi, I don’t know what went down between you two before that made you break up, but those 6 months were killer. I’ve known you for so long, but seeing you those 6 months almost killed me.”

“Then you know that being with him matters to me.”

“I get that! I really do! But that night when you came home after the break up, you were broken beyond anything Khushi.”

“I know, I was… But… I don’t know how to explain it… I love him La, I really do. Initially, I probably shouldn’t have loved him, but now, over the last 2 months, he’s changed so much for me. For me La! For little me!”

“I just don’t want to see you get hurt.”

“I don’t think I will get hurt. And if he does hurt me again, I give you full permission to go and cut him up like you threatened to do the first time.”

Pouring herself a glass of orange juice, Khushi took a sip.

“Are you sleeping with him again?”

Spitting out the sip of juice that she’d just taken, Khushi looked at La with wide eyes.

“What the hell?”

“It’s a genuine question, are you sleeping with him again?”

“You can’t ask me that, that’s personal.”

“Oh please Khushi. When has anything been a secret between us. Just tell me.”

“Laaaaa…”

“Khushi! Just answer the question.”

“No, I’m not. We haven’t… Not since we’ve got back together, we haven’t.”

“Keep it that way. Until you know for definite that things are going to work out for the long run.”

“Okay baba, I won’t get intimate with him like that until things are 100% going the right way? Happy now? Can we end this super awkward conversation?”

Satisfied with the answer that she had received from Khushi, Lavanya nodded and went back into the living room. Lavanya had always been much more open about her sex life, but Khushi found it slightly awkward and didn’t like answering questions like that. But she knew Lavanya cared about her, hence why she was questioning her like that. She couldn’t help but feel grateful for her friend, who always had her back, no matter what.

Picking up her food, Khushi too went into the living room and sat down beside Lavanya, who was watching tv.

“Is NK going to come round tomorrow night?”

“I don’t know, maybe? Why?”

“Arnav invited me to Shantivan. I wanted to make sure that you’ll have company, otherwise I won’t go.”

“We don’t have plans but I’ll ask him. It’s all this wedding prep, he’s always so busy doing one thing or other. This is why I just wanted to elope.”

Laughing, Khushi shook her head. As long as she had known Lavanya, La had always said that when she got married, she didn’t want a big ceremony with lots of rituals. That she’d happily just elope. But now the time had come, to Lavanya’s distaste, NK was one of those people who did want a big wedding with lots of rituals. Khushi was totally convinced that if Lavanya wasn’t completely in love with NK, then she would have called the wedding off entirely.

“I can’t believe you’re getting married soon. I always thought I would get married before you.”

“I honestly thought the same Khushi, but looks like life played a different game with us.”

When Lavanya and NK had told Khushi that they were going to get married, Khushi had been ecstatic. She was so happy that her friends had found love and that they were ready to spend the rest of their lives together.

Of course, behind the scenes Khushi had felt very disheartened. This was due to the fact that her best friend was going to get married and was going to leave her, and she would remain here on her own, no sign of any change in the future. But now she felt a lot happier. La was going to get married to the man of her dreams, and Khushi had Arnav back. Arnav who was willing to change himself so that they could stay together. Maybe things were going to work out.

*****

“Khushi! It’s so good to see you again!”

Anjali threw her arms around Khushi and pulled her into a big hug. During their relationship, she had only come back to the Raizada house twice with Arnav and after they broke up she had lost touch with them completely. But right now, it felt so good to be back again.

“I’m so glad you and Chote worked things out, I really think you are perfect for Chote and our family.”

Blushing, Khushi looked between Arnav and Anjali before looking down.

“All love for Khushi, what about me Di? If you’re like this before I’ve even married her, what are you doing to be like after marriage?”

Arnav’s words made her look up. Marriage. He was talking about marriage as though it was something that was round the corner, something that he had actually been thinking about. He was speaking about it so casually, so comfortable. Surely he hadn’t… But maybe… Maybe he had?

“Di, where’s Nani? I need to talk to her about something.”

“She’s in her room. Both of you go up to see her and then Khushi come back down! There’s something I want to show you!”

Nodding, Khushi followed Arnav up to his Nani’s room.

*****

Anjali and Payal were showing Khushi lots of different colour samples for the living room when Arnav and Nani came downstairs.

“Can I have everyone’s attention please?”

Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to Arnav.

“What’s the matter Chote?”

Sweeping his gaze of Khushi and the Raizada’s, Arnav braced himself for what he was about to say.

“As you all know, for the longest time, I didn’t believe in the institution of marriage. Hell, I didn’t even believe in love. I didn’t believe that love actually existed. But since meeting Khushi… My life has changed in more ways than one. You all have noticed it, and I will confirm it, Khushi has changed me. For better, or for worse, she’s changed me completely.

I’m not going to hide the truth from you guys because you all know anyway, but me and Khushi did break up. I messed up, fucked up on a major scale and I hurt Khushi in a way I can’t believe I hurt her. But despite all that, she’s here, with me, willing to give me another chance and I don’t want to let her go. So…”

Arnav walked over to Khushi, took her by the hand and made her get up from the sofa, before he dipped down onto one knee himself. Khushi’s eyes widened as she looked down at him, and Anjali and Payal both gasped, realising what was happening.

“Khushi Kumari Gupta, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife. I know I’m not perfect and I know I have a long way to go before I become the perfect man for you, but I promise you… I promise I will become that man. So will you? Will you marry me?”

Hand over her mouth and tears falling from her eyes, Khushi couldn’t believe this was happening. Arnav pulling out a ring box from his pocket and opened it up, revealing a yellow gold ring with a blue diamond in it.

This was a dream! Surely it was a dream! Arnav wasn’t actually on his knee in front of her. He couldn’t be! This wasn’t her Arnav, not the Arnav she knew.

“Will you marry me baby?”

Tears fell from her eyes thick and fast. She felt choked up due to emotions and couldn’t form any words, so simply nodded.

“Y… Ye… I… I… Yes… I will…”

Getting off his knee, Arnav slipped the ring onto Khushi’s finger before pulling her into a hug and kissing the top of her head.

The Raizada’s all got to their feet and clapped and cheered for the newly engaged couple.

Pulling apart, Khushi looked at the ring on her finger. It was definitely not a new design ring, but it was a classic and she loved it.

“Chote, isn’t that Mama’s engagement ring?”

“Haan Di, it is. Nani had it and I wanted to ask Nani if I could give it to Khushi.”

Gasping, Khushi looked at the ring on her finger. It had been Arnav’s mother’s. No wonder it was such a classic piece.

Nani came over to Khushi and Khushi took Nani’s blessings.

“God bless you my child. When Chote called me last night to ask if he could give you his Ma’a engagement ring, I was overjoyed. My daughter had always said that she would give her daughter in law her engagement ring. She may not be here herself to give you this ring, but Khushi, I am sure she is watching from above, more than happy that Chote has picked you to be his bride. This isn’t just your late mother in laws ring Khushi, this is her blessing to you.”

“It’s beautiful. I love it!”

“You know Bitya, Chote has already spoken to your parents as well. He’s had me speak to them as well.”

Turning her attention to Arnav, Khushi raised her eyebrow.

“He wants to do things properly, he wanted everyone’s permission and blessings before he asked you himself. After your parents said yes to both me and him, and after I said yes, we didn’t see any point waiting before he asked you.”

Turning her attention back to Arnav, Khushi walked towards him.

“I can’t believe…”

“You wanted me to prove that I was committed to you, that I really did love you and care for you. It took some soul searching, but ultimately, I realised that I cared for you in a way I have never cared for anyone. I care for my family in one way, but the way I feel about you… It’s completely different. It’s so much more intense and I think that’s love.”

“This is actually happening? Is this actually happening?”

Wrapping his arms around her waist, Arnav placed a light kiss on Khushi’s lips.

“It really is baby, it really is.”

Fifty Shades of Raizada ~ Part 18

vI2Gra1

Six months had passed since Khushi had left Arnav and there hadn’t been a single day when she hadn’t missed him. One could question why she missed him so when they barely shared a relationship outside of the playroom, but Khushi had fallen in love with him. There was something about him that drew her to him like a moth to a flame. But Khushi knew that if a moth got too close to the flame then the moth would burn. And she’d been burnt by Arnav. She couldn’t go back to him after that.

In these six months, Khushi had used all her time and energy to try and establish herself. She was making use of her degree and had gotten a job at a publishing firm. She was enjoying her work, it kept her busy and her mind off Arnav. But when she came home to Lavanya and NK, cuddled up together on the sofa, she couldn’t help but wish that she had that too. It was at times like that that she missed Arnav the most.

But Khushi knew that she and Arnav couldn’t be together and she couldn’t stay with him. She’d only end up hurt and more alone.

*****

“La, I might be home late tonight, so don’t worry about food for me. I’ll have something at work.”

“Khush, you work too hard. This is going to be the third night this week you’re going to come home late. And it’s only Thursday! Are you sure you’re working late or have you met someone but just aren’t telling me about it.”

“You know I’m not looking for a relationship.”

“I know but…”

“I’m focusing on me and work. Like you should too sometimes!”

La rolled her eyes and left Khushi to carry on getting ready. She knew something had gone down between Arnav and Khushi, but Khushi never said what happened. She just knew that when it ended, Khushi was completely broken, but she was adamant that she wouldn’t get back together with Arnav. La didn’t know what happened, but she knew it changed Khushi on a completely different level, and she wasn’t sure how much she actually liked the new Khushi.

*****

As Khushi got into work, she was greeted by all her colleagues. In the short time that Khushi had been at the firm, she had managed to make herself a lot of new friends and a lot of people who respected her.

“Good morning Khushi. Sir has said that he’s emailed you everything you need to know about the new project that you are meant to be working on. He said you have until tomorrow to get the first draft sorted.”

Nodding, Khushi left and made her way over to her little desk. She was happy here. She was in control of her own life and she was free to do things as she wanted.

Just as she was about to start working a text message came through. For a moment, her heart almost leapt out of her chest, for some reason she was under the impression it was Arnav, but looked at her phone to find it was only La.

Annoyed at herself for wanting it to be him, Khushi pushed her phone away and began working.

Arnav hadn’t bothered trying to call or text her after she left that day. He hadn’t attempted once to try and take her back. The doors of the lift had closed between them and that was it. They were done. Some part of her had wished he would reach out to her, but he hadn’t. Evidently he hadn’t felt as strongly about her as she had him.
Shaking the thoughts of Arnav away, Khushi began working.

*****

It was nearing 9 pm when Khushi finally submitted her work and started packing her things away. She was exhausted but glad that she’d got all her work done.

Putting her things into her bag, Khushi got to her feet. Everyone else has already gone, only she remained and her boss who was busy working away in his office. Saying goodbye to the security guard, Khushi clocked out and left, making her way down to the bus stop. It was already dark out, but it didn’t really bother Khushi, she was used to leaving in the dark and walking down to the bus stop on her own. And it was only a 10 minutes walk from her office so she didn’t mind.

She was only about two minutes away from the bus stop when she felt a hand close around her shoulder. Turning around, she was met with a tall man with eyes as dark as the night looking down at her.

“Where you off to?”

“Bus stop.”

Shrugging away from his grasp, Khushi turned away and carried on walking to the bus stop.

“Hey hey, wait up.”

“Leave me alone please.”

“Listen, let me drop you off.”

“No thank you.”

Once again, she turned away, and tried to hurry away but the man grabbed hold of her hand.

“Stop walking away and listen to me.”

“Please just let me go!”

His hand around her wrist tightened and he began trying to pull her away in the opposite direction.

“Please, please let me go!”

Tears rolled down Khushi’s checks as she tried to pull herself away from the man. She prayed to god to send her a guardian angel, to send anyone to help her.

Before she could even finish her prayer, the mans hand was pulled away from hers and the he was on the floor.

“The woman has been asking you to let her go. If she says no, you let her go.”

The voice hit her like a tonne of bricks. She recognised that voice better than she would be able to recognise her own. Looking up at the person who saved her, Khushi was shocked to find Arnav staring at her intently.

“Are you okay?”

Nodding, Khushi couldn’t understand what had just happened. Where had Arnav come from all of a sudden? Arnav put his hand out and Khushi took it tentatively. Not because she wanted to touch him, but because there was a sense of calmness that came with holding onto him.

“Can I take you back to my apartment so you can relax a bit or would you just like me to take you home?”

Khushi’s hand in Arnav’s tightened. She wanted to go home with him, talk to him, but she couldn’t forget about the way that they had parted. His punishment…

“Take me back to my place please.”

Wrapping an arm around her, Arnav led Khushi over to his car which he had parked haphazardly on the sidewalk. Helping Khushi into the car, he then went over and took his own seat.

Putting the car into gear, they were off. Khushi looked around the car and instantly memories of what they had done here before came back to her. She remembered that time they’d got intimate in the back of the car and she couldn’t help but blush. Things had been so different then. What they had shared at that point of time had been passionate. It hadn’t been weird and laden with rules. It had been just them, sharing their feelings for each other, letting go after holding back for so long.

“How did you… How did you find me?”

“I…”

Arnav stopped and Khushi watched. It looked as though he was racking his brains, trying to work out what he should say. Finally, he exhaled and began talking.

“I’ve been… I’ve been following you. Ever since you left me. Just to make sure that you were okay.”

“You’ve been what?!”

“Don’t be angry. I just wanted to make sure that you were safe and that you were doing okay.”

“You’ve been stalking me?!”

“Don’t say it like that.”

“Why couldn’t you just call me and ask how I was like a normal person.”

“I didn’t know if you’d speak to me, but I needed to make sure that you were okay.”

Shaking her head, Khushi looked out of the window. Who did he think he was and why did he think it was acceptable to stalk her?

“Khushi don’t get angry.”

“Do you expect me to just be cool with the fact that you’ve been following me around like a creepy stalker? What the hell Arnav.”

“I care for you okay! That’s why I did what I did! Why can’t you understand that? I wasn’t going to jump you when you were least expecting me, I was just keeping an eye out for you.”

“You don’t need to, I’m no one to you.”

“You know you mean a lot to me.”

“Do I really? Is that why you punished me for wanting out? If you cared about me you wouldn’t have hurt me like that.”

Finding a safe place to stop, Arnav pulled up.

“I’m sorry for how things ended. I… I’ve missed you so much Khushi. The moment the doors shut behind you, I wanted to go after you, take you into my arms and kiss you…”

“Really Arnav? You wanted to take me into your arms and kiss me? Can I remind you that during the duration of our relationship, the only time you held me and kissed me was in that stupid room of yours.”

“And it was then that I realised how much you meant to me. Normally, I let women go, I don’t want to be with them any more. But you, you left me and I still wanted you. I was with you for so long and I still wanted you. That’s how I know you’re different.”

“You just hadn’t got bored of me yet. It doesn’t mean anything. If I had stayed, you probably would gave got bored of me soon after and would have chucked me out any way. The only reason you’re still hung up about this is because I chose to leave you.”

“It does mean something Khushi! And no I’m not still feeling like this because you left me, I’m feeling like this because I care about you.”

Shaking her head, she looked away.

“Please just take me home.”

“I want you back.”

“But I don’t want to be with you Arnav! Just let me go, forget about me.”

“I can’t! You don’t get it. I’ve never cared about another woman. I care about you!”

“You keep saying that, but I’ve never felt cared by you. As for you following me around, I know you need control. How do I know you weren’t just following me around because you weren’t ready to see me with anyone else?”

Slamming his fist against the steering wheel, Arnav knew that he was running out of chances. If he didn’t say something that made her believe him, then he may lose her completely and he wasn’t about to accept that.

“I know I care about you Khushi. I don’t know if it’s love, but I know I care. Give me one chance, just one, to search these feelings.”

“I can’t…”

“Why?”

“Because I don’t want to get hurt while helping you find your feelings. I can’t put myself through that.”

“Please.”

“I just can’t…”

She seemed adamant that her answer was no. That she wasn’t about to go back.

“Khushi, please. No playroom, no dominating, no punishments. Just me and you, and you’ll lead the way while I find me feet.”

“I don’t think you’ll be able to have a normal relationship. One without your room.”

“I have never tried it, but I want to prove to you that I care about you. And if I need to give that part of me up, then I am willing to do it. I want you Khushi, I need you. Please let me try and fix this between us.”

She felt so overwhelmed. She hadn’t expected this, hadn’t expected Arnav to be willing to walk away from his world for her sake. That’s what she wanted, what she had hoped for, but she had lost hope of it ever happening.

Khushi wanted to say yes, this is what she wanted, a chance at a normal relationship with Arnav, but she didn’t know if he could do it.

“I don’t know…”

“How about I let you think about it for a while? And when you’ve made a decision you’ll let me know?”

This sounded like a good idea. She wanted this, god knew how much she did, but… Could he really change? Could he really walk away from a part of his life that helped make him who he is? Had she unknowingly actually changed him that he was ready to leave everything behind and start a new type of life with her?

“I will think about it. But I need you to think about something too.”

“Anything.”

“I want you to really think about us. If I agree to this, I want long term, I want forever. Arnav… I will think about this, but I need you to think too. Do you really want me for me, do you really care about me because I’m important to you? I need you to think about all these things. Because if you don’t think that you care for me, or that I am really, really important to you, then you’ll never be able to give me what I want. And if you can’t give me what I want then there’s no point us wasting our time.”

“I will. I will think about everything. I promise. Thank you Khushi! Thank you so much.”

Taking her hand into his, he pressed a kiss against her knuckles before pulling away and getting the car back into gear. The mood within the car lightened slightly and both Arnav and Khushi felt hopeful. Maybe there was a future for them after all?

Fifty Shades of Raizada ~ Part 17

uVWk52B

Pulling herself off the hard bench, Khushi attempted to make her way to her room when Arnav stopped her, lifting her into his arms.

“It’s okay, I can go.”

“Khushi, please, let me.”

She didn’t have the energy to fight with him, but she didn’t want this attention from him.

Five months had passed since the contract had been signed, five months since she’d allowed herself fully into his world. And in those five months, she realised right from the beginning that this was a royal mistake. She didn’t like what he did to her, what he did with her. Yes, what he did gave her a certain amount of pleasure, but it was no where near as pleasurable as their initial encounters. That first night, as much as it had hurt, she preferred that night and would happily live that night over and over again.

Since signing the contract, their relationship had been purely a dominant-submissive relationship. The lover he had been previously was gone, it was almost as though he had been a completely different man. Outside of the playroom, he didn’t really come near her, not the way he used to before the contract was signed.

With Khushi in his arms, Arnav made his way over to the door, opened it and then walked out, into the long corridor and made his way down to her bedroom. She hated thinking of it like that, but it was essentially her bedroom. It was her space where she could do whatever she wanted and he wouldn’t say anything.

Since the signing of the contract had happened, there was zero romance taking place in the bedrooms. Whether it was Arnav’s bedroom or Khushi’s, there was no intimacy going on in there. Every evening, after they were done in the play room, Arnav would take Khushi into his arms, carry her to her room, kiss her on the forehead and then leave. And that was it. Other than that, he wouldn’t sleep with her in the same bed, nor would he even stay to just talk with her. She couldn’t deal with it any more.

*****

Much later the same evening, Khushi was fully dressed and she made her way downstairs to find Arnav. The lights were all off, but she could see his bedroom light was on. Taking a deep breath, Khushi began her way down to his bedroom.

Door wide open, Khushi took Arnav in. Lying back in his bed, his phone was in his hands and he was texting away. She took in his profile, he looked at ease, like he had no care in the world. This is always how he looked after they… Shaking her head, she wished that she could’ve made this work, that this was for her. But it wasn’t and she couldn’t do it any more.

Knocking on the door, Khushi looked down and waited for him to call her into the room.

“Khushi? What are you doing here at this time? How come you aren’t asleep yet? Come in.”

Walking tentatively into his room, Khushi looked everywhere except in the direction that Arnav was sitting. He pat the edge of his bed, letting her know that he wanted her to come and sit by him. Perching on the edge of the bed, Khushi looked at her lap, not sure how she wanted to approach the topic.

“Why are you sitting so far away from me. Come closer.”

Shaking her head, Khushi remained where she was. She needed distance so that she would be able to think straight. She didn’t want to be close to him, it would just cloud her thoughts.

“What’s wrong?”

“Can you please put your shirt on?”

“What?”

“Can you please just…”

“Okay, okay.”

Reaching over the edge of the bed, Arnav grabbed hold of his t shirt and pulled it on over his head.

“Better?”

“Much better.”

“Khushi, what’s the issue? What’s wrong?”

“I…”

He took her in. The way she was fiddling with her hands, the way her whole body looked tense, the way she refused to come closer to him. It all set alarms off in his head.

“Tell me what’s wrong?”

“Arnav I…”

Taking a deep breath, she realised that there was no point stalling or longing the moment out. What needed to be done, needed to be done.

“I can’t do this any more.”

“You can’t do what any more?”

“Us… This… The contract. I can’t…”

Arnav had had a feeling that something like this was coming, but he couldn’t believe that she’d actually come to this decision. Sitting up straighter, Arnav moved towards Khushi, tried to touch her hand, but she moved away.

“I’ve been thinking about it for ages, so please don’t try to change my mind. My mind is made up. I don’t want this any more.”

“Surely there is some way I can make you reconsider.”

He moved closer to her, tried to touch her, but her mind was made up. Getting to her feet, she stood before him, looking away.

“I want to end this contract and I want to leave.”

“You can’t just do that.”

“Arnav. I don’t want this. I want out.”

“But if you end this, that’s it, me and you, it’s over. Aren’t you going to miss me?”

“I will… But Arnav this life isn’t for me.”

“I don’t understand why it isn’t.”

“I want love and I want passion. We don’t have that.”

“You think what we share isn’t passionate?”

“It maybe for you, but it isn’t for me. Arnav I want to be able to cuddle with you, fall asleep with you and wake up with you. I want you to hold me close and kiss me. And you don’t believe in any of that. Since we signed that damn contract, when was the last time you actually held me close to yourself and kissed me?”

“Is that a trick to question? I kissed you only a little while ago when we were in the playroom.”

“That’s the point! Outside the playroom there is basically no relationship between us. You don’t kiss me outside the playroom, you don’t hold me… Falling asleep together is out of the question for you. Even when we do kiss, it isn’t like how it used to be before. When you kiss me, I don’t feel fireworks like I used to. I just feel… Just feel used and I hate that. I don’t want all this.”

How could she just decide that she didn’t want this any more? Didn’t she realise how important she was to him? He’d let her meet his family, told her they could potentially have a future together and yet here she was, willing to throw it all away due to a technicality. He felt his anger rising, but he tried to keep himself in check. He didn’t want to scare her or really make her change her mind.

“Khushi, please, let’s try and make this work. I don’t want anyone else. I want to be with you and have this relationship with you.”

“You don’t understand Arnav. I don’t want this! This isn’t the kind of relationship I want. I don’t enjoy it. In the playroom, what happens between us, you love it and enjoy it, but I don’t. You thrive of it, but I just feel tired. And to be completely honest, I don’t find it as satisfying as you do. This isn’t what I want. I want out. That’s my final decision.”

She folded her arms over her chest, making it clear to Arnav that her mind was made up and that she wasn’t about to go back on her word.

“If you want out now, that’s it, there’s no coming back.”

“I’ve not enjoyed this from the beginning, I doubt anything is going to change. So can we just end the contract and can I leave?”

“Didn’t you read the small print, you can’t just terminate the contract when you feel like it.”

Thinking back to the contract, Khushi tried to remember what clauses he had in place in regards to ending the contract. She couldn’t for the life of her remember what the contract said.

“If you don’t remember, allow me to remind you. In the contract it states that if the submissive wants to terminate the contract before the dominant sees fit, she is subject to punishment.”

“Punishment… What are you saying?”

“I’m saying that I have to punish you. You want to terminate the contract and leave this relationship, fine, so be it. But you have to be punished before you leave.”

“You want to punish me?”

“You aren’t leaving me with much choice.”

“You want to hurt me?”

“Again, it’s nothing personal, just a part of the contract.”

“Do I mean nothing to you? You actually want to hurt me?”

“Either you stay with me in this relationship, or you receive your punishment and then leave.”

“What if I just escape and never come back?”

“I will find you Khushi. You know I will. The choice is yours.”

“I want out.”

“Then go to the playroom and be ready for me.”

“No… We’ve already… I can’t… We can’t do it again.”

“You think I am sending you to the playroom because I want to touch you? No Khushi. Today you’re going to receive a different treatment in there.”

“I don’t…”

“You’ve ended our contract, so I’m never going to touch you like that again. But you still have to go to the playroom.”

*****

Wiping away her tears, Khushi picked up her packed bag and made her way downstairs.

Her buttocks were sore and her heart was shattered, but she couldn’t spend another moment here.

Looking over the room one last time, she switched off the light and shut the door behind her. She was done with this place and all the crap that came with it.

Making her way down the stairs, Khushi’s eyes ran over the apartment, taking in everything that had become some familiar to her. This had almost become like her home. Almost.  Yes, she hadn’t been entirely happy here, but when she was here she had hope that she would make Arnav see how much she cared for him and wanted him. But five months had passed and no change had taken place. He hadn’t changed and she realised he wouldn’t. He was too set in his own ways and it was evident he didn’t care for her enough to try and change.

“Khushi…”

There he was. Stood in front of the door. Was he waiting for her to leave? Or was he going to ask her to reconsider?

“Have you got everything?”

“Yes.”

“Khushi… I’m sorry.”

“No, you’re not.”

“Please can you just…”

“No. I can’t stay, I can’t reconsider. Maybe if you hadn’t punished me, maybe… But I can’t spend another moment with you now. I want nothing to do with you from this moment onwards.”

He looked away. He wanted to stop her from leaving, but he knew there was no point. The way she said she wanted nothing to do with him… Her voice was filled with hate and anger. There was no way of making her reconsider.

Khushi’s mind was made. She didn’t want this type of relationship. She wanted romance and love and lifetime commitment. He just wanted control. There was no space for love in his life. There was no point holding onto her.

“I’m going to miss you Khushi.”

“I will miss you too. But I… I’m better off without you.”

Shaking her head, Khushi turned away.

“Goodbye Arnav.”

Pushing the button to the lift, the door opened instantly and Khushi stepped inside. She turned to look at him one last time, a tear rolling down her face.

“Goodbye.”

The doors of the lift clanged shut and she was gone. Arnav felt immobile. She’d gone? She actually left him? How could she!? Didn’t she realise he needed her? God damn her.
Picking up a vase, Arnav threw it at the closed doors of the lift. Screw Khushi.

*****

Tears rolling down her face, Khushi couldn’t believe that she was leaving him. She’d grown so attached to him, she didn’t think she’d be able to do it, but she had. She was free from Arnav and his dominating nature. She was free and she was going to start again…

Jalebi ~ Part 13

IMG_8793

Arnav and Khushi hurried as they got ready for their day. The conference was to be held at 1pm. Khushi had picked out a navy knee length dress and put a black blazer on, and Arnav picked out a black suit, white shirt and decided to pair it with a navy tie.

“Do you like my tie?”

“It matches my dress almost perfectly!”

“I didn’t know you had a dress this colour when I packed it, but seeing as you’re wearing that dress and I have this tie, I might as well wear it.”

“Doesn’t it make us look like a couple?”

“It makes us look like two business partners who have a united front.”

Laughing, Khushi grabbed her bag and shoved her phone into it. Once they were both ready, they left their room and went down for breakfast.

Arnav went for a full English breakfast, consisting of scrambled eggs, roasted mushrooms, hash browns, some vegetarian sausages and sun-dried tomatoes. Khushi on the other hand, just opted for an omelette.

“Arnav that’s a very heavy breakfast. You’re going to get so tired after eating all that.”

“These types of conferences last a long time. And considering it starts at 1, who knows what time we’ll get lunch.”

Arnav tucked into his breakfast and Khushi watched, laughing, before turning her attention back onto her own food. He wolfed down his food faster than she could finish her omelette.

*****

The conference was nothing major, nor was it anything interesting. They spoke about the impact that Indian businesses were having on the British economy and what they could do to further increase the impact that they were having. Throughout the course of the conference, Arnav sneaked looks at Khushi. He watched as she listen tentatively, making contributions every now and again. He watched as she cross her long slender legs and then uncrossed them again. He noticed how smooth her legs looked, how good it would feel to have her legs around his body…

Arnav stopped himself from thinking further. He couldn’t think about her like that in the middle of a conference. He stopped himself and turned his attention back to the old man who was talking.

*****

After a long two and a half hours, the conference ended and everyone went down to the bar and restaurant to get some food. Khushi introduced Arnav to some of the most affluent Indian businessmen in the UK.

“I must say Khushi, you’ve come a long way since I first met you two years ago. And this merge with AR Designs has been a very good tactical decision on your part Khushi. I’m very proud of you.”

“Thank you Mr Khanna.”

Many of the delegates at the conference were people Khushi had met before and they all expressed how pleased they were with how far she had come in her business ventures.

“Mr Raizada, it was also a very good decision on your part to merge with Khushi’s business. She knows what she’s doing and I am more than convinced that the pair of you are going to reach great heights.”

“Thank you Mr Khanna. Your kind words mean a lot to the both of us.”

Many people had also praised Arnav for his business. Together Arnav and Khushi basked in the glow that they were receiving from everyone’s compliments.

As he listened to people talk to Khushi, about how happy they were for her, Arnav felt his heart swell. Khushi really had come so far from high school, she’d worked so very, very hard and she’d made such a name for herself. She did it all by herself.

He thought about Akash and his plans to take Khushi’s business and Arnav realised that the first thing he needed to do when he got back was talk to Akash and make sure that he knew that they couldn’t play their game with Khushi, that they couldn’t try to take her business from her, he wasn’t going to allow that to happen at any cost.

Mr Khanna left and before Arnav had the opportunity to say anything, a voice behind them called out to Khushi.

“Khushi!”

Turning around, Khushi gasped and rushed over to the man who had called me.

“Rohan!”

The man, Rohan, opened his arms and Khushi hugged him. Arnav lingered behind.

“What are you doing here? I didn’t see you at the conference.”

“I wasn’t at the conference, I had a meeting so wasn’t able to attend but I was able to make it for this bit.”

Khushi’s attention turned back to Arnav and she beckoned him over. Walking over to them, Arnav smiled and held out his hand.

“Hi, I’m Arnav, Arnav Singh Raizada.”

“I know who you are dude! Everyone knows who you are. I’m Rohan Malhotra.”

The men shook hands.

“Arnav this is Rohan, our dads are close friends, but he and I went to university together, so we’re friends in our own respect.”

“Again, great to meet you Rohan.”

“Rohan’s dad is in the Indian sweets business, hence why they’ve been invited to this conference.”

Rohan turned his attention to Khushi and draped his arm around her shoulders. The gesture was innocent, what’s an arm around a friend, but it annoyed Arnav. He didn’t like the idea of another man touching Khushi. At all. It didn’t matter how. He wanted to wrap his own arm around Khushi and pull her to himself, away from Rohan.

“When did you get back Khush?”

“We got here yesterday afternoon.”

“And you’re staying here?”

“Yeah, thought it would be easier to stay at the hotel than to go home.”

“Are you going to stop over and see uncle and aunty?”

“Yeah, maybe tomorrow or the day after.”

Arnav stood there, listening to Khushi and Rohan talking. He felt out of place and it was making him uncomfortable. Out of place.

“Khushi, in just going to grab myself a coffee, do you want anything?”

“No, I’m fine, thank you.”

“Rohan can I get you anything?”

“No, no it’s fine.”

Arnav nodded and made his way over to the tea and coffee stand. He took his time getting his coffee. He didn’t want to have to watch Rohan with his arm all around Khushi.

Taking his phone out of his pocket, Arnav looked through his emails and checked his messages.

When he felt he’d killed enough time, he grabbed his coffee and made his way back over to Khushi. But to his distaste, Rohan was still with Khushi, and his arm was still around her. He watched as Rohan leaned in and whispered something into Khushi ear and she laughed in response. Arnav clenched his fist, he didn’t like this, didn’t like it one bit. He walked over and Khushi smiled as she saw him coming.

“You took your time.”

“I thought it’d take a moment to check my emails and stuff, just to see if anything important came through. Did I miss anything?”

Before Khushi could respond, Rohan cut in.

“We we’re just laughing at the thought that this time last year we were almost married.”

Arnav felt as though he’d been slapped in the face. What? Khushi and Rohan had almost been married?

“Our dad’s decided that they wanted to turn friendship into a relation and were all ready for our wedding. But Khushi here, argued that we were too young and that she wanted to hold out for a while before thinking about marriage.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, but she only postponed the inevitable, we all know that ultimately me and Khushi will get married.”

Clenching his fist, Arnav counted to 10 before thinking of a response. Khushi was almost married to Rohan. Khushi and Rohan were still planning on marrying one day? No. No no no. Arnav had been having intense feelings towards Khushi before, but now, knowing that she was set to marry someone else, it caught him off guard and he wasn’t having it. He wanted Khushi, and he wasn’t going to let this smart guy think she was his.

“What if one of you meets someone else?”

“I know Khushi’s the one for me so I’m not looking at anyone else.”

“But what if Khushi finds someone else?”

“Khushi knows she belongs with me.”

“What if someone else falls in love with Khushi and he’s ready to fight for her love?”

“I’ll always win.”

Sensing the tension that was brewing, Khushi stepped between Arnav and Rohan.

“Arnav, I just remembered, I need to talk to you about something.”

Arnav nodded and Khushi took hold of his arm, ready to steer him away when Rohan stopped them.

“I need to get going anyway, but it was great seeing you Khushi. If you have time, let’s meet up for lunch before you go back to India.”

“Yeah sure!”

Rohan hugged Khushi and regarded Arnav before taking his leave. Taking Arnav by the arm, Khushi led Arnav away.

“What the hell was that?”

“What was what?”

“The way you were speaking to Rohan about me and our relationship.”

“He was acting like he owns you.”

“I’m basically engaged to him Arnav.”

“I don’t accept that.”

“Excuse me? Why does it matter to you what kind of relationship I have with Rohan?”

“I… Because I…”

“Because you what Arnav? I can’t have you speaking to my friends like that. You are my friend too but…”

“Because I… I love you Khushi, I’m pretty sure you know that! So why I spoke to him like that is simple. He’s acting like he owns you but he’s not the only one who wants you.”

The words, I love you Khushi, rang in her ears. She knew that he was attracted to her, but love?

“You don’t…”

“I do. I really do Khushi. I love everything about you and I’ve been falling in love with you for the longest time. But you’ve always made it clear your business is your priority and for that I’ve been pushing my feelings aside. But now, seeing him… I can’t keep my feelings in check. I love you Khushi and I’m god damn going to fight for you. And I know you have feelings for me too.”

Feeling slightly overwhelmed, Khushi took Arnav’s hand and led him further to a secluded corner of the room.

“What are you saying?”

“I’m saying I love you and I know you love me too.”

He spoke with such confidence, like he could see inside her. But he was right. She was in love with him. Arnav took a step closer, closing the distance between them.

“I know you want to do what’s right for your business, but I’ll wait for you. I know my feelings for you are real and true. One day, whether it be 5 years down the line, or 15 years down the line, I know we’re going to be together. I’m going to marry you and make you mine.”

Taking a step closer to Arnav and she reached out to touch his face. He was serious about her, he really wanted to be with her. Khushi knew how she felt about Arnav. Her feelings towards him were undeniable.

Arnav moved closer, there was no longer any space between them, one wouldn’t even be able to put their hand between them. Arnav placed his arm around Khushi’s waist and pulled her into himself. Khushi looked up into Arnav’s dark eyes.

“Rohan can think whatever the hell he wants, but your mine Khushi Kumari Gupta.”

And with that, he kissed her, hard and full on the lips. Arnav felt Khushi’s initial shock, but she melted into the kiss, kissing him back. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and Arnav touched Khushi’s face. Pulling apart slightly, Arnav murmured against Khushi’s lips.

“I love you, and you’re only mine.”

“I love you too Raizada.”

Smiling, Arnav took Khushi’s lips between his again and they kissed passionately, their tongues duelling for dominance, while their hands sought out each other’s skin.

Coming to her senses, Khushi broke the kiss.

“We can’t do this, not here, someone might see us.”

“So should we take this up to our room?”

Blushing, Khushi nodded. Yes. She wanted to take this up to their room. She didn’t want to think logically any more, she wanted Arnav and he wanted her and that mattered more than anything else right now.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon

“Khushi, I need to talk to you.”

Eyes wide, Khushi was ready to run away. Things had been so weird between her and Arnav ji. To begin with there was the kiss from the mehendi day, the way he got all jealous and annoyed when NK was around her, the way he hadn’t objected to her kissing him in return in front of everyone. Then there was his concern when he had thought she’d been in an accident. The bangles that he had brought for her… And how could anyone forget the general niceness that Arnav ji had been showering her with.

Now, she didn’t want to hear anything else he had to say. Whenever he spoke or was close to her, all she could think about was how fast her heart was beating. Enough was enough. She was going to avoid him for the rest of the day so she could keep her heart under control.

“What about?”

“I just do.”

Taking steps towards Khushi, he was ready to talk about what was on his mind. But alas, interruptions were constantly getting in the way.

“Saale Saab, the groom needs you.”

“Akash…”

Nodding to Khushi, Arnav walked away, they’d resume their conversation later. Khushi stood there, she wasn’t going to go talk to him. It was her Jiji’s wedding, she had other things she needed to think about. She didn’t have time to think about the Laad Governor.
But she couldn’t help but think about his tone, how calmly he had spoken to her.

*****

“Bhai, I’m tense.”

Pulling at the buttons on Akash’s sherwani, Arnav looked up.

“Tense? Why would I be tense?”

“Not you bhai, I said I’m tense. And why are you in such a hurry?”

“I’m not in a hurry you are, after all you need to see Khushi.”

“What?”

“I mean Payal…”

*****

Sitting in the guest room, Payal was going through her jewellery, trying to work out what she was going to wear with her wedding outfit. She took one item out at a time, putting it aside after she’d explained her thought process to Khushi. However, Khushi wasn’t listening. She was rushing around the room, moving things from one side to another.

“Khushi! Are you listening to me? I said that the Jhumka isn’t here.”

“Kya?”

Running over, Khushi took the box that Payal was holding and started panicking and mumbling about how she would go looking for it.

“Khushi what’s the matter with you? I’m getting married yet you’re the one that’s getting all worried.”

“Me worried? Why would I be worried.”

*****

“Bhai have you forgotten? I’m not allowed to see Payal until the wedding now.”

“Yeah… right.”

*****

“I found it!”

Holding up the jhumka, Khushi handed it back to Payal.

“There you go. Now we have time.”

“Can you go and find amma and buaji for me?”

“I need to go and find Arnav ji too.”

“Arnav ji?”

“Haan, he wants to talk to me.”

Knotting her hands in front of her, Khushi thought about all the things he could possibly want to say to her.

*****

“You… You wanted…”

“I need to talk to you about something.”

It hadn’t taken her long to locate Arnav, and by the looks of it, it seemed as though he had been waiting for her to find him too. Walking towards her, Arnav closed the gap between them.

“Khushi main tumse…”

Eyes wide, Khushi looked up into Arnav’s eyes. Main tumse kya? What was he trying to say? Was he trying to tell her that he… No, no surely he didn’t…

Arnav walked towards her, and Khushi moved back. She didn’t want to move away from him, but her feet moved automatically, further and further back until her back hit the wall behind her. Arnav reached out, seemingly wanting to touch her.

“Arnav ji…”

He carried on, his hands close to her body, but not quite touching her. His phone began to ring.

“Arnav ji your phone…”

Arnav pulled his phone out of his pocket, never moving away from Khushi. A waiter approached from behind them, letting Arnav know that Nani was looking for him.
Moving away from her, Arnav spoke to Khushi with his eyes. They weren’t done yet. Pushing herself off the wall, Khushi looked up at Arnav as he moved back, but before he left, he pointed to the mirror beside them.

Confused, Khushi turned around and looked at her reflection. There on the mirror, on her forehead was a bindi. Khushi looked up to where Arnav was standing and saw that he was smirking slightly. Laad Governor, he did this. Blushing, Khushi reached out, peeled the bindi off the mirror and placed it on herself and looked up at Arnav again. He smiled and then walked away.

What was happening? What did he want to say? What was he doing?

*****

Anjali had gotten into an accident and the Raizada’s gathered around Anjali on her bed.

“I really am fine, please don’t tell anyone, they’ll just get worried for no reason. NK bhai, please go and stay with Akash so he doesn’t find out and get worried. And mama ji and mami ji, please take Nani. I’ll just get changed and I’ll come down.

Arnav watched from the door as he held his tears back, yet he failed as his tears flowed down his face. What if something had happened to his Di? How would he live? He could’ve lost her. He could’ve lost the woman who for a long time brought him up singlehandedly. He could’ve lost his Di before telling her that she was right…

The Raizada’s got to their feet, understanding that Anjali didn’t need to change, but she needed to talk to her brother who was on the verge of a breakdown. Slowly, they all filed out of the room, while Arnav remained perched on the edge of Anjali’s bed.

“Chote… I’m fine, absolutely fine.”

Finally letting his guard down, Arnav rested his head on his Di’s lap, while he cried like a child. Anjali stroked his hair, letting her own tears flow.

“I’m sorry Di.”

“Chote, why are you saying sorry to me?”

“For all the times I was rude to you and for all the times you asked me to do something for you and I said no straight out. You are my whole world Di, please never leave me like Ma did. Please Di, if you do I won’t be able to live.”

“Sh Chote. I would never leave you. Never. I’ll always be here for you, right here, always by your side. But you see, what I told you the other day about having no guarantees about tomorrow. This is why I said to you, if someone comes into your life and if there is something in your heart, you should tell them. You shouldn’t hold back, for we don’t know what could happen tomorrow. We don’t even know what could happen today. Now you go down, I’m going to change and then I will come down.

Getting to his feet, Arnav made his way over to the door before turning around and smiling at his Di. He recalled all the times his Di had told him how one day a girl would come and his heartbeat would increase, if anything happened, it would feel like his heartbeat would stop. He thought back to the night before when he thought Khushi had had an accident. And he realised that his Di was always right. That day had come, and that girl had arrived. It was Khushi.

“Di, I need to tell you something.”

“Haan, Chote, tell me.”

“You were right.”

“About what?”

“Remember all the time you told me someone would come into my life and mera saase rukh jaygi and all that stuff. It’s happened Di.”

He walked back over to her, and sat by her side. Anjali smiled her widest smile and cupped her brothers face.

“Di… I’m in love with…”

“Khushi ji. I know. You may only be telling me know, but I have known for the longest time that there was something in your heart for her. Have you told her?”

Arnav shook his head.

“But I want to tell her. Today, right now.”

“Then go tell her!”

“Lekin Di, do you think she loves…”

“She does Chote.”

“How can you be so sure?”
“I’ve seen the way she looks at you and the way you look at her. It’s clear what is between your hearts. Go and tell her Chote.”

Arnav got to his feet again and was ready to make his way out when another thought came to him.

“There’s something else I want to tell you and something else I need you to do.”

“Anything Chote…”

*****

With a smile that was refusing to leave her, Khushi made her way up to the terrace. Of course the note wasn’t signed from Arnav, but she knew it was him. Who else could it have been? She made her way up the stairs and onto the terrace where all the lights were sparkling around her. A hand came and rested on her shoulder. Slowly, Khushi turned around. Arnav. He’d arrived.

“Khushi, I need to talk to you.”

“About?”

Carefully taking her hand, Arnav held it in his own.

“I… Mein… I love you Khushi.”

His words echoed in her ears. He did? Did he?

“K… Kya? What did you say?”

“I said I love you. Mein tumse pyaar karta hoon Khushi.”

Tears fell from her eyes as her smile widened and she rushed into his arms.

“Hum bhi aapse… I.. I love… I love you too Arnav ji.”

Arnav felt his heart swell with joy, he’d never felt this much joy in his life. His arms tightened around Khushi and he held her close. She loved him too. He was right. She did…

They remained in their embrace not wanting to let the other go. They had finally got each other. They weren’t about to let go just yet. Arnav’s hand moved from around Khushi’s waist into her hair. He pulled away slightly, only slightly so that he could look at her face.

“I love you Khushi.”

“I love you too.”

“God I feel like saying that to you over and over again.”

“Same.”

Khushi made to rest her face in his chest again, but Arnav stopped her, placing his finger under her chin and lifting her face to his. Her eyes fluttered shut as she recalled the last time his face had been this close to hers. Diwali…

“I’ve been dying to kiss you. Can I?”

Saying nothing, Khushi felt her cheeks heat up as she moved her face only slightly more towards him. Arnav’s eyes too closed as he held her close and let his lips fall on hers. He felt her lips quiver between his, but her arms around him tightened as he slowly moved his lips against hers. She attempted to mimic his action, her hand reaching up to cup his face. They fumbled slightly, but their lips remained sealed to the others, trying to establish a pace and a familiarity.

Finally, when they felt that they needed air, they pulled apart ever so slightly. Their eyes opened, and Khushi saw Arnav’s eyes were much darker than usual.

“Marry me.”

“I will.”

“I mean tonight.”

Eyes widening, Khushi pulled herself out of Arnav’s arms.

“What?!”

“Yes. I want you to marry me, tonight.”

“But how?”

“I’ve already spoken to Di and Di is speaking to your family right now.”

“But even if they agree, how can we…”

“After Akash and Payal get married, we’ll get married on the same mandap.”

“But you don’t even believe in marriage.”

“After what happened yesterday, when I thought I lost you, I realised that life is unpredictable and then something happened today and I realised that I don’t want to have to let you go, ever. And if making sure you’re always with me is by marrying you, then that’s what I’m going to do.”

Taking everything in, Khushi felt so confused. Arnav wanted to marry her, Arnav loved her! She shook her head, trying to make sense of it all when Arnav’s phone buzzed.

“It’s Di.”

He clicked open the message and read it, his eyes wide with surprise.

“You’re family have said yes. Di said ‘larki wale maan gaye! Took some persuading but they have agreed! My Chote is getting married?'”

Mind going into overdrive, Khushi didn’t know what to think. Or how to react for that matter. Arnav realised that she was confused, so he placed his hands on her shoulders.

“If you don’t want to, we don’t have to. We can wait, do everything properly and then get married. But I want you, hell I need you and now that I’ve realised it, I won’t be able to stay away from you.”

“What if we do this and then you realise what you were feeling was wrong and you don’t actually want me that much.”

“Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve been pulled towards you. You’ve been changing me, slowly slowly. You’ve been taking bits of my heart to the point where yesterday I felt like I was empty because I thought I lost you. I don’t think my feelings towards you are going to change Khushi.”

Hearing him say those words, talk about his feelings like that, it pulled at Khushi’s heart. She hadn’t realised it until recently that she was in love with him, but when she realised, she knew that she wanted him. And now it seemed that it could become a reality.

“I need to talk to my family. But if they really do say yes and if they really are okay with this, then yes, I will marry you tonight.”

Arnav pulled her back into his arms, pressing his lips between hers once more while his fingers knotted into her long hair. He liked this, the feel of her hair in his fingers, the feel of her body against his, the feel of her lips on his. It was all new, yet he was already addicted to it.

*****

“Arre Sanka Devi. What is all this? Anjali bitya came and told us that Arnav babua wants to marry you tonight. What is all this?”

Looking to Arnav, Khushi really didn’t know how to answer the questions that her family were asking her. Placing his hand in hers, Arnav nodded and then addressed her family.

“Me and Khushi are in love with each other. This isn’t something that has been happening behind your back, we have only expressed our feelings for each other today. But now that I have realised my feelings for Khushi, I don’t want to have to wait before making her my wife. I understand this is very last minute but… I love Khushi and I want to do this.”

Buaji raised her hand to her forehead, called out to her Nand Kishore and then turned her attention back to Khushi.

“Dekho titaliya, of course you getting married tonight isn’t ideal, but if this is what you and Arnav babua really want, then we will not stand in your way.”

Looking between her buaji and her parents, Khushi nodded shyly. She’d always dreamt of a big lavish wedding, but now that it came down to it, she realised that all she really wanted was the man standing beside her. It didn’t matter to her if they didn’t have a big lavish wedding with lots of rituals and ceremonies before and after. She just wanted him, to be joined to him in holy matrimony.

“Then if this is what you want, we won’t say no.”

“What are you saying buaji?”

“I’m saying, take your hand out of Arnav babua’s right now and move away from him because the bride and groom aren’t allowed to see each other before they reach the mandap.”

She couldn’t believe it! She was getting married! Tonight! Payal took hold of Khushi’s arm and led her away from Arnav and into her room where she was getting ready.

The two sisters squealed with joy. They were both getting married, at the same mandap, into the same family!

*****

There was a rapid knock on the door and Khushi went to open it. She opened the door to see Anjali, standing there with a bundle of red clothes in her arms. She walked into the room and shut the door behind her.

“Congratulations Khushi ji! You’re getting married!”

“Anjali ji… I don’t know what to say.”

“Well for starters you can start calling me Di now. I can’t believe this is happening! You don’t understand how much I have dreamed about you and Chote getting married and now it’s happening! I’m so happy!”

Payal walked over to where Khushi and Anjali were standing.

“Do you see what she’s like Anjali ji, she’s hijacking my wedding day!”

“You can start calling me Di too! And you should get used to it, this is what my Chote is like. He always needs to be the centre of attention. He’s stealing his brothers wedding day.”

Together Payal and Anjali joked and teased Khushi for a while. However, once Anjali saw the time, she realised that she needed to rush off, after all, there were two weddings to take place!

Anjali handed over the bundle of clothes to Khushi.

“It’s not the best wedding outfit, but it’s the best I could have brought to me at such short notice.”

Turning the fabric over, Khushi looked at it and saw the blue boarder on the lengha and smiled.

“It’s beautiful Di!”

“Do you really like it?”

“I really do!”

“I’m so glad! Anyway, you start getting ready, I’ll have someone bring some jewellery for you too.”

Anjali turned away and left the room, shutting the door behind her. Payal came and stood beside Khushi as she opened up the outfit that Anjali had left for her. It was a simple lengha, definitely not bridal, but it was still beautiful. She couldn’t wait to get it on and get married to her Laad Governor.

As Akash and Payal made their way around the holy fire, both families watched and showered them with flowers. They were on their sixth round, almost done. The evening had been long, with many rituals to complete for both the couples that were to get married. The Raizada’s and the Gupta’s had to make sure that they kept Arnav and Khushi away from each other during Payal and Akash’s wedding ceremony. But their eyes kept meeting, and Khushi blushed every time she remembered that she too would be getting married in a bit at this very mandap. She was ready, dressed in her bridal gear, waiting for her turn. As she looked over to Arnav, she realised he was still wearing his suit. Was he going to marry her wearing a suit? Typical Arnav Singh Raizada. Only he would do something like that. Shaking her head, Khushi went back to showering her Jiji and jijaji with flowers.

*****

When Akash and Payal’s wedding was complete and they had taken their blessings from the elders of both families, Payal moved to Khushi’s side and Akash to Arnav’s and they led their siblings to the mandap for their marriage. Some of the guests were not aware of the sudden double wedding plan and so looked to each other confused. But regardless, people came together once more for the second marriage.

*****

The rounds were completed, vows had been made, mangalsoothra was tied and sindoor was applied. Arnav and Khushi were officially married and they couldn’t be happier. They got their blessings from the family members and were congratulated by all their guests.

Arnav placed his hand on Khushi’s, pulling her into himself.

“I can’t wait to fully make you mine.”

Blushing, Khushi realised what he was insinuating. She hadn’t thought about that, about what he was suggesting but maybe she should have been. Hadn’t she been teasing her Jiji all week about her wedding night? How had her own wedding night slipped her mind?

The bidaai of Khushi and Payal took place and then they were welcomed into the Raizada house with Akash and Arnav carrying their respective brides over the threshold.
Usually they would have got the new couple to play some games, however due to the unexpected second marriage, it was late and everyone was tired so the couples were sent to their bedrooms.

Walking into his room, Arnav didn’t expect it to be decorated for their suhaag raat, but was surprised to see that it had been decorated. Flower petals and candles were scattered all over the room. The bed too was decorated with flowers hanging all around it.

Arnav carried Khushi over to the bed and lowered her onto it, lowering himself at the same time, his face moving closer to hers as her back hit the bed. His lips pressed between hers just as he settled her onto the bed and positioned himself over her.

Cupping her face and making sure that his weight wasn’t on her, Arnav kissed Khushi passionately, his lips urgent against hers. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Khushi pulled Arnav close to herself. Biting her lip ever so slightly, Arnav used Khushi’s momentary shock to slide his tongue against hers. The intrusion of his tongue caught Khushi off guard for a moment, but she let him steer the kiss and she attempted to mimic his direction.

*****

Some time later, Arnav and Khushi were still in bed, still just kissing. They lay on their sides, Arnav’s leg slung over Khushi’s as his hands caressed her back.

Finally he pulled away and got to his feet.

“I need to get out of these clothes. Do you want to get changed?”

Shaking her head, Khushi sat up in bed.

“You change, I’ll wait for you.”

Nodding, Arnav walked over to his wardrobe, pulled some clothes out and went into the bathroom. Leaning back against the headboard, Khushi lifted her hand to her lips and smiled. When her day began hours and hours ago, she hadn’t thought she would end up being married at the end of the day. Heck, she didn’t even think that she and Arnav would confess their feelings for each other. Yet they had and here they were, married.

Loosening the dupatta that was pinned to her head, Khushi took it off her head and just used it to cover her chest. She slowly began to take off the heavy jewellery that she had been wearing when her hand fell upon her mangalsoothra.

Smiling to herself, she let it rest around her neck. She was married. To Arnav ji! To the man who she had been in love with!

Before Khushi could proceed any further with her thoughts, Arnav came out of the bathroom in nothing but his sweat pants. She took in his toned abs, his muscular arms.

Her eyes travelled shamelessly down and she took in the sight of his feint V lines. Holy crap.

He walked over to the bed and pulled Khushi off of it and onto her feet.

“Arnav ji… What are you…”

“I need to undress you.”

Blushing, Khushi looked away as Arnav reached out and slowly pulled her dupatta away from her. As he did so, he saw her chest heave slightly, moving up and down in a rhythmic manner. She attempted to raise her arms, to cover herself, but Arnav stopped her, moving her arms away. He took a step closer to her, letting his lips move to her not exposed neck as he trailed a line of hot kisses down to the base of the neck. His hands wrapped around her exposed waist as he ground her body against his.

“I know this is all happening really fast, we can slow down if you want.”

He whispered the words into her ear, his warm breath made her shiver with a new kind of wanting.

“But I’ll admit, I really want to make love to you tonight.”

His words ignited a new kind of fire within her and Khushi wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I want to be yours.”

Still hugging her close to himself, Arnav began to undo the doori of Khushi’s lengha top, letting it sag around her shoulders as it began to come undone. Pulling it over her head, his eyes fell onto her exposed body.

“Are you sure?”

It was all happening fast, but this was one thing Khushi was sure of. She loved Arnav ji, her husband, and she wanted to be his. Some may think she was being insane, given the fact that only 12 hours ago she had no idea that 12 hours later she would be married. But she was and she knew how she felt about him and he felt about her. She wanted this, she wanted him.

He kneeled down before her, his fingers in the waistband of her lengha as he pulled it away slowly. Khushi shut her eyes, breathing hard. This was happening, it was really happening.

Lifting her off her feet, he put her down onto the bed once more before proceeding to free her of her panties and his own trousers. Once their clothing was no longer near them, they finally came together as one…

*****

Morning arrived sooner than either of them had expected and light hit their eyes, ruining their peaceful slumber. Khushi’s eyes fluttered open and looked at Arnav, sleeping peacefully beside her. Or should she say under her. Her head was resting on his exposed chest, her leg was draped over his and her arm on his shoulder.

Blushing, Khushi remembered last night, their expression of love, their marriage, their kisses, their love making… Pressing a kiss on his shoulder, Khushi gathered the covers around her as she began to get out of bed. But she felt his hand around her wrist and he pulled her back onto himself.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“To get ready for the day.”

Running his finger along her body, he felt her melt back into him.

“I love you Khushi.”

“I love you too.”

Laying in each other’s arms, they both enjoyed the warmth that they were receiving from the other. Both smiled at their respective thoughts. But ultimately, only one thought stayed in their minds. It felt so good that their relationship finally had a name.

Author’s note:

So many of you are probably seeing this and thinking “What? Another OS this week?” I didn’t have any intention to post this, but after realising that today marks the fifth anniversary of IPKKND ending, I thought we may as well make the day special by remembering and celebrating the union of our fave jodi. So here you go, a special, long OS that I have been saving for a special occasion. Hope you guys enjoy it. Be sure to let me know what you think.

Suhaag Raat

“Kis cheez ka mathlab hai?”

Grabbing hold of her shoulders, Arnav pulled Khushi to himself.

“THAT I LOVE YOU DAMMIT!”

His eyes bore into hers, his anger and frustration evident. Khushi stared back at him, her eyes wide with shock. His words stopped all thoughts flowing through her brain, and she could feel herself drowning in a sense of happiness. He loved her, he wanted to take their marriage further because he loved her.

Arnav let go of Khushi and walked away. He needed to clear his head. His words rang in her ears and she played the moment over and over again.

“THAT I LOVE YOU DAMMIT!”

Remaining on the terrace for a few moments, Khushi thought about what she wanted to do, how she should react. Once her mind was made, she made her way back to their bedroom, pushing open their shut bedroom door.

“Arnavji?”

Looking around, she saw Arnav wasn’t there. Closing the door behind her, Khushi knocked on the bathroom door before pushing it open. He wasn’t there. She rushed over to the poolside, he wasn’t there either.

Sitting on the edge of the decorated bed, she realised he’d probably gone for a drive to clear his head. Picking up some of the petals from the bed, Khushi couldn’t help but smile. He had done all this for her, so that they could spend a special night together. He did it so that their first night would be special. He did it for her…

She remembered all the times she had asked him “kyun faraq partha hai?” and he had stopped himself from replying, now it made sense. He loved her that’s why he cared.

When he had told her he loved her on the phone, Khushi had been overjoyed to hear his words, to finally hear that he felt that way about her too. But then she had realised that he was in trouble. She had chosen to believe that maybe he said that to alert her while still being discrete. She had been confused… But now there was no doubt, he loved her and she loved him. That’s all that mattered.

Getting off then bed, Khushi placed the dupatta on her head again and went to sit down on the recliner, waiting for him to come back home.

*****

It was nearing 10pm when Khushi saw their bedroom door slowly open. Getting to her feet, she rushed over to the door just as Arnav was shutting it behind him.

“Arnavji!”

Running into his arms, she hugged him, held him close to herself.

“I was so worried you weren’t going to come home tonight.”

“Where else would I go? How come your still awake?”

Breaking the hug, Khushi placed her hands on her hips.

“How could I go to sleep when you left so angrily?”

“I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have got so angry… Why haven’t you got changed yet?”

Turning around quickly, Khushi locked the door and then stepped closer to Arnav. She walked right up to him and whispered in his ear.

“Aaj hamari suhaag raat hai.”

Stepping back, she looked down, blushing. Arnav smirked, something had changed in her and he liked it. But he remembered why he’d left in the first place.

“No… Not tonight. I went for a drive and I really thought about everything. If the phere matter so much to you, then we are going to go tomorrow morning, with the whole family and we are going to do our phere. We’ll tell them we’re doing it because last time they weren’t present but we’ll do it. Just like you want us too.”

“You’d really do this for me?”

“I’d do anything for you.”

Coming back to him, Khushi threw her arms around Arnav. Pulling away, Khushi cupped his face.

“I can’t believe you’re willing to do that for me. But you were right. Yes, the phere are important and I’m so happy that we’re going to do them, but at the same time, you were right. There really isn’t anything that is more important than our love and our feelings. And if you’re willing to do our phere for me then I am willing to…”

“What are you saying Khushi?”

“I’m saying, I love you too dammit.”

Instantly her cheeks began to glow red and she bit her lip, trying to hold back the smile that threatened to take over her face.

Arnav stepped close to her, and placed his hands on her hips, pulling her into himself.

“Are you sure you want to do this tonight?”

“Positive.”

Lifting Khushi off the floor for the third time tonight and placing her down onto the bed for the second, Arnav let himself move over her. Hands on her hips, Arnav moved in, moving towards her neck. Khushi turned her face away from him, giving him more exposure of her neck. Her breathing was fast and heavy, her chest moving up and down rapidly. As his lips touched her neck, Khushi’s breathing stopped altogether. He placed a line of light kisses down the column of her neck while his hand moved over her exposed belly before resting over her belly button.

Arnav moved back slowly, and looked at Khushi, who had her eyes tightly shut.

“Khushi breathe. If you don’t you’re going to pass out.”

She began to open her eyes very slowly and watched as Arnav took this moment to take his waistcoat off. Once off, he moved back over her, his lips inching towards her neck once more.

Placing her hands on the back of his neck, Khushi closed her eyes and held him close as she felt his lips press into the side of her neck. Moving round, he began placing kisses on her cheeks, her eyes, her nose… Moving towards her lips. Arnav felt Khushi hold him more tightly. He opened his eyes slighted and saw that she’d parted her lips, anticipating his lips on hers. Closing his eyes once more, he reduced the distance between their lips. When finally his lips fell between hers, Arnav felt her tense momentarily, but then she melted into the kiss, her lips slowly moving against his. Her hand moved from the back of his neck into his hair. He let his hands move from her tummy and up to the sides of her breasts, feeling her. He let himself move over her more fully, his lips moving against hers faster, far more urgently.

Trying to touch every inch of her, Arnav’s hands too moved urgently along Khushi’s body. He moved his body against hers too, grinding his body against her, imitating a very intimate action, all of which caused Khushi to let out a moan of pleasure. Arnav took this as an opportunity to slide his tongue between her lips, and pressed it against hers, coaxing her to do the same.

But they needed air and so Arnav pulled away and looked down at a highly breathless and flustered Khushi.

“Can I take your clothes off?”

Eyes snapping open, Khushi looked into Arnav’s. His eyes were dark, almost black, his desire to take things further evident in the way he was looking at her.

Giving a little nod, Khushi attempted to sit up, but was stopped by Arnav. He rolled her onto her front, leaving her back visible to him. He looked at all the tied up doris of her choli and started working his way down them. With each one he untied, he placed a little kiss on her exposed back.

One by one the doris came off until they were all off. Turning Khushi back around again, he watched as her chest heaved as he slowly slipped the choli off her. As he pulled the choli off, her breasts came into sight.

“Fuck.”

Khushi’s eyes opened and she attempted to cover her breasts with her arms, feeling self conscious. Did he not like the way she looked? Did he not approve?

“No don’t.”

He took hold of her arms and moved them away before taking one of her little pebbled nipples between his lips. He placed a light kiss on the hardened little nub before flicking at it with his tongue, suckling on it lightly. Khushi felt as though her body was on fire. All her nerves tingled, she felt as though his lightest of touches would cause her to burst into flames.

He moved back away from her chest, placing a kiss on her cheek before brushing her hair out of her eyes.

“You have such perfect breasts. Looking at them when you have clothes on, I knew they’d be special, but looking at them now… Fuck Khushi. You don’t understand how much they turn me on.”

She looked into his eyes before averting her eyes again. He approved, he thought they were perfect. She no longer felt self conscious. She felt precious, special… She felt like she was fully becoming his.

Arnav moved down her body, placing kisses on her exposed skin. He went from her neck, to the valley between her breasts, down to her belly button and the went further, stopping just along her waistline. Hooking his fingers into her lengha, he slowly began pulling it away. Khushi felt her breathing stop once more. She shut her eyes as he slowly pulled her lengha away, throwing it away when it was off. Arnav came back over her, placing kisses from her ankles and then moving up. He kissed her knee, her thighs and then moved to her inner thighs, getting closer and closer to her most intimate area.

“Arnavji…”

Her voice was breathless but her desire for him was evident. Arnav moved back up, pressing a kiss onto her lips, touching her naked body. He lifted her slightly, and flipped them, so he was on his back and she on top of him.

Breaking the kiss, Khushi sat up straight, straddling him. Khushi threw her hair over her shoulder.

“Don’t you think I’m overdressed?”

Arnav raised an eyebrow at her, a smirk on his lips. He sat up, so they were both in a sitting position, but she was still on his legs. Khushi bit her lip lightly as she reached out for the blanket.

“What are you doing?”

“I… I feel awkward.”

“That’s why you should undress me, so we’ll both be as naked as each other and you won’t feel awkward.”

Arnav watched as she hesitated slightly. He saw her eyes dart towards the blanket and Arnav let her reach out and cover herself with it. Then she came back, her cheeks bright red and she slowly started unbuttoning his shirt. Arnav watched as her fingers fumbled on the little buttons, but he didn’t intervene. He wanted to give her the opportunity to explore his body on her own as he did hers.

Once all the buttons were off, she slide her hands along his body, up to his shoulders and pushed the shirt off. As the shirt fell onto the bed, Khushi moved in, kissing his neck as he had done to hers, all the while letting her hands feel his naked chest and arms. She pushed him back slightly, getting him to lie back on the bed. She then came over him, kissing his chest and then carrying on down his abs.

To begin with her kisses were slow and tentative, now her kisses felt far more urgent, far more confident, like she needed to cover every inch of his skin with her kisses. Arnav bunched Khushi’s hair into his fist, and held her close to his body. As she moved further and further down his body, Arnav felt all his blood rush down south as well.

“Khushi…”

Pulling her back up, Arnav flipped Khushi onto the bed and moved over her, his lips moving urgently against hers. She kissed him back, the same amount of fire in her, her hands bunching into his hair. Arnav let his hand move down her body and slipped his hand into her panties. Khushi felt her breath catch in her throat as she felt him touching her down there, his fingers brushing against her opening.

“Arn…”

Pushing his finger into her, Khushi gasped at the intrusion, but as he started moving his finger, all thoughts were gone from her. Arnav was careful, he didn’t want to scare her or shock her by being too abrupt, but when dipping his finger into her and finding her absolutely wet, he realised he couldn’t hold back any more.

Pulling away, he freed himself of his pants and boxers. Khushi opened her eyes ever so slowly and took in his thick, erect length, standing proud. She blushed at the sight him, she couldn’t believe this was happening. Arnav moved back and pulled Khushi’s panties away in one quick, effortless motion and then came back over her, position his body above her, ready to dive in.

“Are you sure you want to do this tonight, we can wait until tomorrow if…”

He watched as she shook her head and wrapped her arms around him.

“I trust you and your love.”

Settling between her legs, Arnav pressed a kiss on Khushi’s forehead before diving in, connecting their bodies in the most intimate manner, finally making them one.

*****

Rolling back onto his side of the bed, Arnav lay on his back, panting for breath. They’d been at it for a while, going slowly, trying to establish a pace and intensity they were both comfortable with. He went extra slow, giving Khushi’s body time to accommodate and get accustomed to his girth.

But now they were done. They’d reached the heights of pleasure and now had come back down to reality.

Khushi rolled onto her side and cuddled up to Arnav, hiding her face in his chest while placing light kisses on his chest hairs.

“Khushi are you okay, you’re not hurting or anything are you?”

“I’m fine…”

Arnav wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close to himself before placing a kiss on the top of her head.

Resting her cheek on his chest, Khushi looked up at Arnav.

“Ab hum puri thara ek hogayi hoon.”

“And tomorrow we are going to do our phere.”

“I love you so much Arnavji.”

“And I, you. You know Khushi, tomorrow after our phere, we can make our suhaag raat again.”

Looking away, Khushi blushed as she hid her face into his chest once again.

“In fact, I think we should do it again right now.”

Pushing her back onto the bed, he took her lips between his once more and they were off again, ready for another round.

A few moments passed before moans of pleasure emitted from both Arnav and Khushi, signifying that their suhaag raat was far from over…
